I have just reached the spend target on my BAPP and received my bonus avios points. I have no intention to put additional spend through the card and want to cancel it ASAP to maximise the pro-rata refund of the £250 fee. The issue is that my points won’t post for another 3.5 weeks. Has anyone got experience with cancelling a card that has an “avios to be transfered” balance? Do the points get posted straight away or are they lost?
Thanks
They’re lost, need to keep the card open until points have been transferred
Thanks.
Sorry one other question, what happens to the pro rated refund? As the account is closed does it get sent back to the direct debit account?
