Discuss today's stories:
I’ve been looking at Delhi for early next year and was surprised by the availability. There are also a lot of cheap business flights especially from Europe, so might not be worth using the 241. It’s then a relatively quick hop (6 hours) to Singapore.
At the risk of telling you something you already know, the BA voucher enables both of you to travel, return, in business on BA/IB/EI metal for the Avios cost of 1 person.
@northernlass. For some reason I always thought the 2 4 1 voucher provided one-way in business class for 2 people or return in business class for 1 person, I hope I’m wrong, from what you’ve said, that’s even better ☺️
That wasn’t actually my post, but I think you might be confusing the BA and Barclays vouchers, (or even the Virgin voucher) – a quick peruse of any of the relevant articles on here will confirm this. As will all the times I and other users and have booked these itineraries with our 241s!
Also, the BAPP voucher can be used in any cabin, the free BA one only in economy, and the Barclays to upgrade either to PE or CW.
Hi, I am still searching for the perfect trip, but thanks to all the advice on here I am getting closer!! And I am getting the hang of using quotes correctly, sorry @NorthernLass it all went a bit wrong.
@Scott You can use 241 voucher in first class on BA, but not the upgrade voucher.
When trawling through SeatSpy I had a look at 1st Class trips (just for fun) but found that some flights cost less in both Avios and Taxes than the same flight in Business Class?! Is that correct or am I missing something?
Thanks
The cash element for F should be quite a lot more, unless you connect from a city outside the U.K. What sort of prices have you been seeing?
If you want to take advantage of the lower avios rate, you might want to book soon as we’ve been told that BA intends to introduce RFS pricing, which will mean a lot of avios!
*Just re-read your post, SeatSpy is totally inaccurate on taxes!
Suggest you carry on saving, 600k will soon be whittled down! Don’t forget, the B’card voucher is BA only, and it doesn’t have to start in the UK, you can use it on a return BA booking. Re. the Iberia option. This is a great way to save both money and Avios, we’ve done it a few times, don’t listen to any doom mongers ! Even if you use them as a stop off on the West Coast to get to Hawaii eg, or as we did, Alaska.Personally, I’d also be looking at MultiCarrier options with the total mileage that you could be incurring, but, not for the feint hearted !
