When are sign up bonus points paid out?

Hi all, i’m sure this has been covered but after a quick search I cant find anything.

I currently hold the AMEX Gold card in my name but we are planning on opening the AMEX Platinum card in my wife’s name due to the 60K sign up points that are currently being offered.

Im aware that you need to spend £6K within 6 months but if we spent £6 in 1 month would the points be awarded on the following statement? We plan on booking some flights within the next 6 – 8 weeks so this 60K sign up bonus would be useful!

My experience is that it will post shortly after the spend is posted, don’t even need to wait for next statement date.
