When will there be a special offer on the Barclaycard Avios Plus card?

Currently have the free Amex card and looking to get the Barclaycard Avios Plus. Was waiting for a special intro offer in the new year but haven’t seen any news of one on the horizon. Do people reckon there will be one soon or have Barclaycard stopped these intro boosts now the cards have become more popular?

Happy to wait another couple of months with the Amex in the meantime, just wondered if anyone had an opinion.

There hasn’t been an enhanced offer and the suggestion has been that we are unlikely to see one in the future as such offers have previously attracted the wrong sort of customer. You can still get 25k + 25k if you are eligible for a Premier bank account and sign up to Avios Rewards.

There hasn’t been an enhanced offer for ages, may never be one again, I think the 100K was a bit controversial. I settled for the 25K as needed somewhere to put my non-AmEx spend.

Hey all – also considering applying for the Avios Plus card to boost my Avios balance for a planned redemption in July. I’m eligible for the card as per their checker but the post above about the premier account got my attention also.

Does anyone know what is expected in terms of the CASS process in order for me to qualify fro the 25k avios in opening an account? Ideally, I’d prefer not to switch out my main current account which has salary and most direct debits set up but do have another current account with direct debits only. I wonder if I could use that account in the switching process and still qualify. Appreciate any thoughts on this.

EDIT: Just read the Premier account criteria – need to have 75k salary minimum going in / or 100k savings with them so my plan won’t work. I’ll just get the Avios Plus card and get the sign up bonus instead.
