Hi
I’ve hit my reward limit and I’ve chosen to redeem for a voucher. I havent received voucher yet but my monthly fee is due to be debited to my account in a couple of days.
Suggestions on whether I downgrade before monthly fee or wait till I get voucher?
I’m also unsure whether the fee is retrospective ie will it be debited regardless because it’s paid at the end of each month I have the card.
Thanks
The voucher should be safe if you’ve selected it, but you might be a bit late to avoid the fee. Have you got the offer to downgrade in your account?
Yeah like NL said you have to wait, possibly even 2-3 months before you can downgrade. Good news, you can then get another upgrade voucher after you downgrade though.
Thanks for the responses. I thought I can choose to to downgrade at any time?
So I I downgrade and then upgrade say a month later, I’ll be I’ll be in line for another voucher? Or would I only be eligible after a voucher if I hit the limit for the basic card.
I also have BA Amex premium and got this to some purchases I couldn’t make on Amex.
There are several posts on the dedicated thread where people have been told by Barclays that they can only up/downgrade if the offer specifically shows in their account. Have you looked? I think it’s an IT issue rather than Barclays being deliberately perverse.
Your spend re-sets when you change cards, so best to trigger any voucher before you swap. You then start the spend for another voucher. It’s not like the BA Amexes.
