Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Where BA needs to improve its app options

  • 9 posts

Just had some “Firsts” with Air Canada that I’m sure others have experienced with them and other airlines but should BA be catching up when it comes to the “investment in customer experience “

    Digital ID
AC allow you to upload your ID (passport and matching facial recognition) and when boarding it negates the need for a Boarding Pass.. just a screen like the boarding gates at T5

    Boarding by Zone-Group
AC call out pax by name for Preboarding based on known need or where their group/zone is already identified as PRE.
but the same is also of Zone 1 with Digital ID enabled.. and pax are called out by name to board… its a refreshing difference

    Live Bag tracking
You scan your bag barcode into the app, enable live services and can track the progress of your bag being loaded … kinda reduces the need for air tags and the like…. And literally just got a notice that my bag has been loaded into the aircraft

put simply… these are great ideas that BA could consider… esp the Facial ID boarding and live bag tracking….

I know a few will cry out that they need to get the website and app stable first (true), but they do need to catch up!!

No reason to scan a barcode, it’s already associated with your PNR. They just need to catch up with the US airlines such as Delta who provide full desk to belt tracking with a 20 min delivery guarantee.

Or United’s walking directions and times through the terminal.

Or Easyjet’s inbound where is my plane tracker.

BA’s app is pathetic in comparison.
