Another poster commented that while Sean Doyle stood up and said BA is dealing with issues its customers know about, like very few people can get through by telephone to BA for months now, and he made promises to do better, 2 or 3 weeks ago…
We’ve had BA failing and cancelling flights all over the place in the weather last weekend which was bad enough. This week for days now we’ve had what seems to be a complete IT meltdown at BA which is even worse. Combined with the impossibility of contacting British Airways that already is longstanding, this BA meltdown has now caused much more distress.
And yet we’ve heard nothing during this week’s complete meltdown from Sean Doyle? Is he hiding?
Maybe he can’t find the hi-vis vest? Perhaps Alex Cruz took it with him to his new job.
He can’t login to his laptop, some IT issues or something…
His silence speaks volumes.
Generally, BA don’t care about their customers because they have such a dominant position.
Any changes will be incremental, as always, followed by the next chap who will undo them.
I’m sure his promise of a premium service applies only to what BA charge.
How would you expect visibility?
Blaming him is ignoring the reality of years of cuts, look at Cruz and his puppet master Walsh. Despite LHR as a base and the JFK route I think BA are in trouble. We don’t know if LHR-JFK will ever again be the cash cow it once was.
I think they need to very quickly sort cleaning and catering, IT will inevitably be more complex, expensive and time consuming, but they can’t continue with these complete outages every year or so. Densifying the SH fleet was stupid, the economics make little sense and the ill feeling from teeny tiny toilets and awful seat pitch is damaging to reputation, and long term that may matter. Trying to compete on cost with LCC is a battle they’ll never win as they’re simply not suited to fight on cost.
He’s been rerouted on a delayed LNER train with broken wifi 😉 https://www.facebook.com/1521832568075995/posts/3124435891148980/?substory_index=0
With the amount of slack taken by Cruz in his hi-vis jacket, maybe Doyle had decided he doesn’t want to create a meme-able photo so early in his BA career!
Flack, surely? Maybe he should have had a flack jacket?!

Yes, flak 🤦🏻♂️
