Discuss today's stories:
Two weeks ago I booked the outbound flight to Bangkok using my companion voucher, with the intention of adding the return flight when it became available. I’ve now booked the return flight (using Avios) and need to add this flight to the companion voucher booking.
I realise I have to contact BA to do this but my question is…why is it that the Avios quoted for the return flight is 300,000 Avios, off-peak, but when I add up the Avios taken from our household account it totals 314,293 Avios.
Did you inadvertently select an option that requires more avios? Try doing a dummy booking for the same flight and have a look at all the options.
You should also be able to see the exact amount of avios you paid on the email confirmation.
*Also – you can get your 50% avios back via Twitter. Takes a few days but definitely less stressful than trying to get through on the phone!
*Also, also – was 300,000 avios just for the return leg, for 2 people? That sounds an awful lot?
Sorry, I wasn’t clear…300,000 Avios was the total for the outbound and inbound flight, for two people.
I tried a dummy booking and 300,000 was quoted. I’m not too bothered about the extra Avios as I was lucky to get these flights but it does seem odd. Thanks for the advice about Twitter too.
