Will voucher start date be delayed until Barclaycard select it for me?

I haven’t selected whether to take the upgrade voucher or 70000 avios, have now hit the spend target and the email sent says that if I don’t choose either one, the voucher will be chosen for me at the end of my card year – does anyone know if I hold off selecting and let them do it for me at the end, is there a chance the voucher’s date will start from then and not now?

I don’t think anyone actually knows yet as this is such a new option, but before you make a decision, be aware it’s only 7000 avios, not 70,000, sadly!

Ah yes, sorry – typo! Thanks for making me aware – 70k would be worth thinking about!

The voucher is valid 2 years from the day you select the option. Appeared in my BA account next day.

This effectively give the vouchers a three year life.
