Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club You have achieved Silver membership

  • 5 posts

I completed my fourth BA flight middle Jan and a few days my account was showing “You have achieved Silver membership” but my account was still showing I was only Bronze. I have called the Executive club help and have been told I need to wait until 8th June (my membership end date) for my account to hit Silver. Have things changed as I always thought you got moved up a few days after reaching threshold?

No nothings changed, you should see your status change as soon as it’s earned (well within a few days anyway)

    BAEC website says

What happens when I reach the next Tier?
You’ll be awarded that status straight away (it can take up to 48 hours to show on your account). It lasts for the rest of your membership year and the full following membership year, unless you reach the next tier in the meantime.

    For example:

If you start your Membership year as a Blue Member and earn 300 Tier Points, you’ll become a Bronze Member.
You’ll continue to earn Tier Points and if you reach 600 within the same year, you’ll become a Silver Member.
Your Tier Points reset to zero at the end of your Membership year but you’ll continue to be a Silver Member for the next Membership year.

I think BA must have a lot of inexperienced staff as I had a very similar reply

Thank you for contacting us about your Executive Club account.
As you are aware, as a member of our Executive Club you have a Tier Point collection year, during which time to earn Tier Points.
Whilst I appreciate you have earned 840 Tier Points during your current Tier Points Collection year as this is not due to expire until 8 June 2023 when your tier will be calculated based on the number of Tier Points you’ve earned and the number of British Airways flights you’ve flown.
I am sorry for any disappointment this may cause, but we do take care to explain this in the Executive Club Terms and Conditions at ba.com.
While I accept how frustrating this must be for you, I would like to thank you for making us aware of your concerns. Comments from our members are always welcome, as the feedback we receive helps us to focus on how we may be able to improve what we do for the future.

I have replied to them quoting the part on their website but still waiting to hear back
