I’m not going to lie I have no issues with flat iron. It’s all about quality for the price and I’ll never leave unsatisfied.

Re CUT I had an amazing experience but agree it’s overly expensive for what it is but I’m not a wine man either.

I think the reality is if you want a good steak fora good price you won’t get it in London.

BTW OpenTable have e mailed a promotion for Hawksmoor Seven Dials, not sure if it’s targetted.

    Any up to date suggestions?

    My current choice would be:

The Devonshire (nothing available for the last Saturday in March)
    Blacklock

Former Hawksmoor fan, would go for a Shaky Pete but the steak does not warrant the price and the service is frustrating.

Regular flatiron customer but I want better for this occasion.

Thinking of the Guinea Grill in Mayfair

I’m sure I’ll be roundly shouted down, but I recently had the best steak (sharing a cote du boeuf) I have had in many years at a branch of Cote. Not in London admittedly, but hopefully they should be consistent. Or maybe not!

We asked for rare/medium-rare and that’s what we got.
