Does anyone know what’s up with zero inbound availability from Bengaluru / Chennai for reward flights? Trying to book a 241 redemption and outbound is showing but no inbound flights for the full 355 day window.
(I’ve tried searching and trawling the forum, apologies if I have missed this being discussed)
I’ve looked at multiple destinations and see the same – eg Shanghai.
Yes I’ve noticed Zero in bound for a few weeks now on routes I am interested in, Hong Kong, Cancun, Antigua etc I’m not checking at midnight, they might be being snapped up by 6am but seeing as there are still most of the outbounds it struck me as weird
There’s another thread on this plus it was mentioned in chat this week – some of these seats are showing on ba.com so it sounds like there’s some sort of IT glitch and they’re disappearing from the system rather than not being released or snapped up straight away.
I’ve just checked a couple of random dates in May and November for MIA and GCM. No availability showing on SeatSpy but there are seats available on ba.com so there’s definitely something amiss!
Thanks all – I tried SeatSpy and the avaialbility tool on BA which both were empty but I’ll try a dummy booking to see if I can find what I need. This thread dovetails nicely with the “Why are BA IT systems so terrible” thread!
I did dummy bookings to see the seats as ultimately that’s the only way to be sure your seats are actually in the inventory!
I’ve just checked India inbound Jan 24. 31 days availability on the way out, zero on any of the five routes on the way back.
I booked my redemption for one of these routes only on Tuesday AM, loads of availability at that point.
No redemption availability inbound whole of Caribbean in business next 355 days on the BA app. Reasonable number of seats in Prem. Economy.
This is also the case when spot checking on Ba.com.
Not seen this before.
This isn’t true at all – I just checked GCM, NAS and CUN and all are showing business availability for Feb 13th next year and other dates. There does seem to be a disconnect between what’s showing on availability trackers and what you can actually book.
Agreed on your examples but none of those destinations is listed under the Caribbean section of the app – they are located under central and south America region.
There is no doubt something amiss nonetheless.
It seems people are using the “broad search” tool on the BA (main) app, which I agree shows 0 inbound business availability in the Asia grouping.
Using the “Spend” facility within the BA Exec / Rewards app, shows availability. Checked HYD and MAA (Chennai) and availabilty showing. Linked through to the BA Website (from the app) and the flights are there to book. Example- outbound 6th April (9+ seats) return 27th April, (3 seats)
When the new app was launched, I commented that there was an issue with the timings shown for the flights- this seems to be resolved (at least for the routes above)
I’ve sent a message to SeatSpy as they now seem to have stopped loading up return flight availability altogether! Of course it could be an issue at BA’s end but there’s clearly a glitch somewhere. This thread maybe needs renaming as a general one on this subject?
