Just a quick mini review of the above.
Used this on Sunday lunchtime using Priority Pass. Was enough space for us to sit together as a group of 6 in the low comfy chairs. USB charge points dotted around as you would expect.
Reasonable food selection,including crisps, nuts, cakes, hot dishes, ice cream, noidle pots, cheese platters.
Smart coffee machine setup with one for skimmed and one regular milk, unfortunately neither worked.
Beers in fridge, spirits out. Didn’t notice availability of bubbles.TV on showing the Aussie Rules.
Clean bathrooms.It wasn’t hugely relaxing for me because my kids were doing relays to the food area and I wanted to accompany them. I suggested one thing at a time to prevent wastage, but this meant many small visits.
I did manage to get myself a beer and a lentil stew with rice in between!Lounge angel scanned 3 visits for the 6 of us which was generous but of course can’t guarantee others would experience the same. We spent about an hour before heading down to board. Some flights were being paged, I expect those airlines who use as their business lounge. The lounge angel was clarifying upon entry which flights would be called and which wouldn’t.
This was up there with the BA Gatwick Club lounge in terms of quality, definitely above the other, limited range of lounges I’ve visited.
I used the Plaza Premium lounge in Melbourne over Christmas, and I think you probably made the better choice. PP felt like a crypt, downstairs with no natural light and decor that accentuated the lack of light. Chairs were comfy and the food was fine, but it just felt wrong.
Yes, it was a toss up between the two. Actually the Plaza Premium had a maximum stay of 2 hours, (vs 3hrs Marhaba) so I wondered if it might be more popular. However we “found” the Marhaba first, so that made the decision.
I did forget to mention the apron view. It was a quiet area of the airport, so not much going on but the natural light helped.
