I ran this article yesterday about Alitalia’s MilleMiglia programme. In particular, I wrote about how they will close the programme down on 31st December and relaunch it on January 1st, with all your miles wiped out!

It is worth a read. For a start, it seems that there are actually worse programmes out there than the Alitalia one! Spirit Airlines in the US insists that you earn a mile at least once every three months, or they close down your account and wipe out your miles.
He also sees some value in certain parts of the Alitalia reward chart – although as that would also involve you flying on Alitalia, I am still not convinced ….
