Are there any working British Airways Executive Club promotional codes?

For as long as I can remember, there has been a box on the BAEC sign-up page to insert a ‘Promotional Code’.

A Head for Points reader emailed me over the weekend to ask if there was anything that should go in this box that would benefit them.

As far as I know, there is no current code. Has there ever been a working promo code?

Oddly, when I first signed up my daughter for BAEC (as part of a Household Account with her grandparents – as I didn’t want my account operating as a Household Account), she got a 5,000 Avios bonus for her first flight, which happened to be a Club Europe return.

I never entered any promotional code when I signed her up, and I haven’t heard of any ‘first flight’ bonus for at least 5 years either!

So … the point of this thread … have I missed anything?! Has anyone actually seen a ‘promotion code’ for joining the BA Executive Club? Has anyone enrolled a family member recently who got an unexpected bonus on their first flight?

I like to think I see most deals, but perhaps there is something being advertised in a BA lounge or ‘High Life’ magazine somewhere which I’ve never seen ….?!
