This deal is in the Daily Mail today, but I will do you a favour and save you having to buy a copy!
Mail readers are being offered a free ‘Family & Friends Railcard’, which will be valid until 31st July. This would allow you to use it at the start of Summer break if you time your trip right.
You will also be offered the chance to extend your railcard for a further year for a £10 discount, paying just £20.
A ‘Family & Friends Railcard’ gives you 1/3rd off most adult rail fares when travelling with at least one child aged 5-15, with the children getting a whopping 60% discount.
You cannot use them on First Class tickets, unfortunately. However, if travelling at a weekend, you can still upgrade your tickets to First Class on the train using the ‘Weekend First’ scheme run by most train operators.
It is easy to claim your free two-month ‘Family & Friends Railcard’. Simply go here and complete the form. You must apply by May 23rd.
