Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Google Street View tracks down some 3V cards in Watford!

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Come on, bear with me, its August and there’s not as much as usual going on! (And I haven’t counted this in the ‘two articles a day’ I said I’d run during August!)

Reader Christopher sent me this Google Street View screenshot from inside the Tesco Extra in Watford!

Fourth row from the bottom, first on the right working out from the centre column. A big stack of 3V Virtual Visa cards!

Wonder if they are still there?!

(PS. If you are new to Head for Points and have absolutely no idea what this post is about, please click ‘3V Virtual Visa’ in the ‘Archives by Category’ menu in the right hand margin. You can read some of the recent posts on how to generate free Avios points with 3V cards.)

I pass the store most days, I’ll pop in either this arvo or early tomorrow and will report back. I won’t be greedy!

  • MoonMan says:

Brought my trip their forward from the weekend, loads of gift cards but no 3V.

Also, if you choose to get pre order call of duty, go to the self service, the staff didn’t understand that there should be no disc in there, was a real chore

It’s not even a backpack either (believe me that would make my life so much easier) it’s actually a regular dSLR on a tripod mounted panoramic head.

I’m off to shot more Tesco stores, as there’s a load of interest in these 3v cards, I’ll post on here if I see any on my travels.

Excellent!! Great start to the day Raffles!!

  • Sideysid says:

Moral of the story, ask the SA to press subtotal after each scan.

    • Alan says:

Indeed – the checkout agent did this without prompting when I was last purchasing some and it worked flawlessly 🙂

    • JAY20 says:

Sideysid is right – you must as SA to hit total after scanning each card, and look at the LCD display to check it says subtotal after each £25.00 – otherwise it wont activate, even if you get an activation successful till receipt. The supervisors and customer service staff on the desk said that as soon as I took some back – so a bit of a staff training niggle.

      • Phil Welch says:

I’ve purchase a whopping 90 of these in the last week.

If you order more than 10 then random failures seem to creep in at the end of the transaction. When I’ve ask the SA to put them through 4/6 at a time there has been no problems at all.
