You will see, as our ‘What is the best hotel loyalty scheme?’ series unfolds over the coming weeks, that I am a fan of Hyatt Gold Passport. The only problem is the lack of European properties to earn points.
Hyatt Place, the budget arm of the group, is starting to roll out in Europe and may provide the answer.
Hyatt Place London Heathrow / Hayes has just been announced, to open in early 2015. The location, near Stockley Park and Brunel University, does not sound ideal, but lets see. It will offer 170 rooms and free wi-fi for all guests. The ride to the airport is estimated at 15 minutes but I would expect most terminals to take longer.
If you want to check out a Hyatt Place hotel before that, the new ‘Amsterdam Airport’ property opened last week. It does seem refreshingly clean and modern. A Zurich Airport property is also due to open later this year.
