As well as the British Airways deal covered in my lead article today, here are some other Black Friday travel offers.

This is by no means a comprehensive list – I have only listed deals where the company involved got in touch to tell me what they were doing.

I especially recommend the Hotels.com competition in case you get lucky!

Hotels:

Hotels.com – I mentioned this earlier in the week.  They are running a ‘mystery coupon’ competition – enter your email address and you will be sent a coupon worth up to 99% off your next booking (maximum spend £1,000)!   The special page to enter is here.

Lancaster London / K West (nr Westfield) hotels – 50% off for 24 hours only, book from 9am only on their own sites here and here

LateRooms.com – exclusive hotel deals which will be available via this link

Melia Hotels – 30% to 45% discounts depending on city (London is 45% which includes the funky ME London – photo below – and the more traditional White House), booking is via this link and runs to 30th November for stays until February.

Flights:

Singapore Airlines – discounted economy fares, from £510 to Kuala Lumpur.  See here for details.

Air New Zealand – special deals to Los Angeles for December to March travel – £399 in Economy, £899 in Premium Economy and £2,099 in Business.  You can see my reviews of the ANZ seats here.  You can book here.  On Monday, they will be offering 100 seats to LA for just £199.

Opodo – book a flight today and receive a voucher worth £50 off your next flight booking.  Details here.

Car rental:

Avis – 20% off UK rentals via this link

Budget Rent-A-Car – up to 30% off UK rentals via this link

Other:

Priority Pass – if you’ve been thinking of joining this global airport lounge network, you can save between 25% and 40% depending on which price plan you choose.  See here for details.

Azimo – free foreign currency transfers (albeit their fees are often as low as £1 for mainstream currencies) via this link

Etihad Guestdiscounts on various items from the Etihad Guest gift catalogue, if you have a pile of Etihad miles and no short term plan to use them for a flight

lastminute.com – discounts on pretty much everything from hotels to spa breaks to theatre tickets, see here for more

Sooooo bored of Black Friday ….

I never thought I would ever type these words but ‘roll on Monday’ !

  • John says:

    You mean roll on cyber-Monday

  • Andrew says:

12% here from hotels.com. Given that they hand out 10% vouchers like candy an extra 2% is hardly life changing

    • luke says:

I tried 4 email addressess, 4 devices to register and always received the same 8% off coupon…..scam rather then great promo

      • Alan says:

8 and 9% offers here on my 2 email addresses. Also started getting their newsletter shortly thereafter so had to unsubscribe from that too!

Interestingly finally found a use for the ‘AH loyalty platinum’ rate – it genuinely did show me availability for room types that were not otherwise available for sale. Rates the same as other standard rates but nice to see it does open up extra availability.

    • Peter Taysum says:

7% fair enough, but won’t get me to book, you get ten per cent as you point out, and I prefer to take that and not reward nights, as I dont use them enough…

Sort of Black Friday related, Hilton are offering a direct status match. No status challenge required.
(Also, Hilton seem to be taking on a few hotels in the UK, including the ex Thistle Glasgow.)

    • Rob says:

Yes, pushed this back to tomorrow but is in hand. Runs to January anyway.

    • Andrew says:

If this is true it’s great news! I always thought that it would make a good Hilton when Thistle sold it off.

  • Kathy says:

I got 10% off from hotels.com. Not a big deal, as that sort of saving comes around quite often.

  • Waribai says:

Slightly OT, Black Friday related. I’m looking for a new laptop. Preferably 15″ with a fast processor. Any decent avios earning opportunities I could combine this with?

    • Kathy says:

If you can get what you want from Argos, buy the equivalent amount of Argos gift vouchers in Tesco, getting 150 clubcard points per £50 = 360 Avios + whatever you get for credit card spend.

      • Waribai says:

Thanks but it would’ve cost me £80 more at Argos + Don’t the Argos gift cards take 24 hours to activate?

        • harry says:

I have posted a deal to you with more than 1 link so it awaits approval.

          Get your laptop half price.

    • Waribai says:

      Thanks Squills!

  • Leo says:

Count yourself lucky I got 7%

  • Anon says:

Hilton are doing 30% off US stays, starts Monday
