  Has anyone used the Uber digital card- trying to see if it’s actually been added to my account and it’s very difficult to tell if it has gone on?

    Yes. At least on the iOS add it appears on the ‘payment’ entry from the ‘burger menu’ (same place you add credit cards) as a gift card. £50 instantly appeared on my account.

    The uber barclaycard 11th ride free offer is ongoing until the end of 2017 btw – journeys outside the UK count there so makes sense to have both setup even though the tesco offer is better for inside the UK.

    It seems to be poorly implemented – for digital credit from Tesco CC conversion it stopped showing. I ended up having to uninstall and reinstall the app to get it to show up again.

    Don’t think so, the reason it works for Tesco CC credit is that it goes through as gift card.

  Don’t forget you can link your Uber and SPG accounts too, if you’ve had a Starwood stay you earn a few starpoints per ride outside stays and 2 per US$ during stays.

  Or in theory you do, my accounts were unlinked which is apparently impossible so chasing to get points for a couple of hundred dollars worth of rides over the summer. Guess what – SPG say talk to Uber and Uber say talk to SPG.

  Anyone had this situation?

  Iirc some retailers are now not awarding cash back via tub when the payment method is gift card. Can’t remember who did this to me, maybe Argos?

      I have some credit on my Uber account from Tesco. I’m sure previously it said an expiry date (IIRC 6 months as noted on the Tesco Cc page) but now nothing mentioned. Anyone else noticed this or am I just seeing things?

        I believe that Uber treat the Tesco CC credit as a “Gift Card”, since the link to the full Uber T&C on the Tesco CC site takes you to the Uber T&C for a “Gift Card. Therefore one would assume that the funds don’t expire. If they did, you would probably have a good case to argue due to the link.

          Exactly. Code arrives in 5 minutes so no need to overdo it unless Uber announced its splitting with Tesco.

          100% in the email from tesco in notes 6 months expiry. Didn’t bother me as I only did £15 and I’ve already used it all.

          Though what we all know is what it says and what happens are always two different things. If Uber credits never expire i assume this will work the same way

          Yes, the email after redeeming said that, but the Clubcard page doesn’t mention any expiry. It links to Uber Gift Card T&Cs which also say credit doesn’t expire, so hopefully is in lines with Nick’s reply. Have Tweeted Tesco to clarify.

          The email from Tesco does indeed show an expiry date of 6 months. However, I take this to be the expiry date for the “Gift Card”, not the actual funds.

          It’s still my understanding that once the FUNDS have been deposited they “never expire”.

          That said, to be absolutely safe, I’ll err on the side of caution and not do too much at one time. 🙂

  Visa and MC credit card payments incur a surcharge, and no option at all for amex, so maybe not such a good deal?

    On £100 Tesco effectively a 2.7% return + MC/Visa points less some factor for not using Amex + of course Tesco on spend like with all other payment methods. It’s not an amazing deal but every little helps…
