UPDATE – APRIL 2025:  This article is now out of date, but don’t worry.  We produce a monthly summary of the top hotel bonus point offers – please click HERE or use the ‘Hotel Offers’ menu above.

Keep up to date with new hotel offers by signing up for our free daily or weekly newsletters.

The main Hilton Honors promotion this Autumn, ‘Double Points’ (click here to register), offers you double Hilton Honors points on every stay you make before 31st December.

I wrote about ‘Double Points’ in detail here.

To give credit to Hilton, it is very straightforward.  All hotels are taking part and there is no minimum stay requirement.

If you are not totally focused on Hilton Honors points, British Airways Executive Club and Hilton Honors have launched a new mileage deal for the Autumn which offers an alternative deal.

The BA / Hilton promotion details can be found here – you need to register.  You will receive triple Avios on every stay until the 30th January 2018.

As a reminder, this is how Hilton Honors works:

If you choose ‘points and points’ from your stays, you earn 10 base points and 5 Hilton Honors bonus points per $1 spent

If you choose ‘points and miles’, you earn 10 base points and 1 British Airways Avios per $1 spent

Under this promotion you would earn 3 Avios per $1 spent instead of 1 per $1.

There is an extra bonus on top

Based on the last few times this offer has run, anyone who selects ‘points and miles’ and who registers for BOTH ‘Double Points’ and ‘triple Avios’ will receive both.

This means that you should get 20 base points and 3 Avios per $1 spent on stays between now and the end of the year.

Arguably, if you value an Avios point at a conservative 0.75p and a Hilton point at 0.3p, ‘Triple Avios’ is the way to go.

Under ‘Double Up’, you receive 25 Hilton points per $1 worth 7.5p

Under ‘Triple Avios’, you will receive 20 Hilton points per $1 plus 3 Avios worth 8.25p

This does assume that you get double base points with ‘Points and Miles’ by registering for both offers.

Two more things to note

The registration page for triple Avios refers to a list of non-participating hotels. The link is not a link, however, so it isn’t clear if such a list actually exists or not.

Secondly, the rules say “Offer available for new bookings made between 15 October ….”.  Existing bookings may not count and, for safety, you may want to stick with ‘points and points’.  (The comments suggest that Hilton is not actually applying this rule.)

Remember that you MUST register for these offers.

You can register for the new triple Avios promotion here.

If you haven’t already registered for it, the registration link for the main ‘Double Points’ promotion is here.

How quickly would you expect miles earned via a Hilton stay to credit to nominated airline account?
I normally take points and points, but switched to points and miles for a couple of stays during the 2k per stay promo in August – I checked out of the last one a good 7 weeks ago. The miles show in my Hilton account, but are yet to transfer to BA.

    • Paulm says:

Usually within a week but sometimes they do take a bit longer. For 7 weeks I would email Hilton and ask them to look into. I had to do this in the same situation and they sorted within a few days

    • BillB says:

Mine all posted on my BAEC within 24hrs of the Hilton stay registering in my Hilton account. Not sure about other airline accounts.

  • Rash says:

Slightly OT, but hilton related: I recently queried 6,000 points disappearing from my account! Got a not very useful reply back, in that it doesn’t state which hotel and which promotion. Something others may not have noticed if you haven’t checked your account recently. The reply is below. :

Thanks for contacting us, and yes, you may have noticed a higher Point balance in your account due to a system error that credited the incorrect number of Points from a recent stay. We’ve identified the error and have corrected your account to reflect the correct number of Points. We have requested a printout of all the points you have earned and redeemed for the last 12 months. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery to the address that we have on file for you. We are terribly sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. • James J says:

    Hi,

Slightly OT but I was hoping someone could help.
My mum got the Hilton credit card and now has the free night certificate.
Can she give it to me or does she have to use it herself?

  • Ron says:

OT Trying to plan a diamond status match with hilton. Does anyone know if the 90 days period is from the time of application or the time they process the status match ?

    • Paulm says:

Time they process it, from experience 4-5 days after application anyway

    • Rob says:

From the day they email you saying you’re accepted, which in my case was 5 days later IIRC.

    • Ron says:

Thanks! Will apply 5 business days before the first planned days then.

  • may says:

OT – I’m booking a return Heathrow Express ticket for £37 and it says there’s a promotion for 20 avios per £1 spent. However when I get to the checkout page it states that avios to be rewarded is 200 avios only? Can someone clarify T&Cs maybe? i tried reading but it doesn’t seem to say anything regarding a lower reward other than child fares not being applicable.

    • Stevie G says:

In the past, despite also getting that message, the double Avios do post in two hits. It’ll be ok.

  • hotaeke says:

[Semi-OT] Is it possible to generate two (mine and hers) Hilton vouchers (through the Barclaycard) and use them for a single booking? I understand that if the Hilton search shows a Standard Room Reward option for my desired dates it means that I can use my vouchers on those dates? Thanks for your help, guys!

    • Genghis says:

      1) yes on separate cards. You make one booking, your partner makes another booking. Email hotel to link bookings.
      2) yes

      • hotaeke says:

Thanks for taking the time to reply Genghis. Let’s complicate the scenario a little bit more. On a 5 day stay would I be able to…
        – Day 1: Single booking to use my Barclaycard voucher
        – Day 2: Single booking to use her Barclaycard voucher
        – Day 3: Single booking for a night using my HHonors points
        – Day 4: Pay cash
        – Day 5: Pay cash
And then call them to link all the bookings? Would this make sense from a voucher/money/points usage perspective?

        • Alex W says:

Beware if you mix redemptions and cash you might not get the points for the cash nights. It’s in the Hilton t&C’s. So if you want the points to credit to your account, put the preceding night as a redemption from her account then the following cash nights booked using your account.

        • Wally1976 says:

I’m planning something similar – Thursday night on Honors points and Fri/Sat nights on vouchers from the credit cards. Remember the Barclaycard vouchers can only be used on Fri/Sat/Sun night stays.

    • TripRep says:

Yes we did exactly that for my 12 night Maldives trip earlier this year, awesome way of using them.

      My Visa cert
      My wife’s visa cert
My points for remainding 10 nights

The Conrad Rangali management kindly allowed us to use my Gold benefits for the entire stay despite my wife only being Silver.

  • BA-Flyer says:

Does anyone know if the Amex ‘spend £250 or more, earn 3000 MR points’ offer, covers cumulative spend? Also, does an advance payment count, as the conditions say it’s meant to be at checkout. Thanks.

  • Jack says:

Can’t tell from the language or ts & cs, does this mean staying on new years eve until new years day counts for the triple avios or not?
