Thank you to everyone who came to the Head for Points Christmas party at the Dry Martini bar at the Melia White House hotel on Tuesday night.

It was another great event and definitely needs to be repeated soon. Apologies to everyone who tried to get a ticket but didn’t get lucky. We will look into a bigger venue, more nights and/or a different ticketing system for the next event. Promise.

We do want to share some of the great pictures Jamie took on the night (big thank you) and also take this opportunity to thank Qatar Airways for sponsoring the event.

The Qatar Airways marketing team – see below – was out in force and I know they were very impressed by how many of our readers had already flown with them and how knowledgeable they were about the Qatar Airways product and service.

I think this is my favourite picture of the evening ….

We had some great conversations ….

and it was really nice to meet so many of you ….

and …

and ….

The bar staff did a great job:

and there was never a long waiting time:

In addition to complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks we decided to also serve prosecco this year.

One of the major contributors to our comments section is in this picture:

Again we forgot to video Rob’s speech …..

A big thank you to all the companies who generously offered raffle prizes! And congratulations to the 18 winners.

I must make an effort next year. I didn’t go for tickets as I knew that I was on nightshift . In hindsight it would have been worth booking an Annual Leave ‘day’ for the evening

  • Vincent says:

Looks and sounds like a great evening!

  • Rob says:

I went on my own and was surprised that I was in the minority with regards tier point runs and extreme ex-eu flights, I’ve never done tp runs (though the OH travels for work so no probs getting BA status) and only done one ex-eu in my life!

Was a great evening though, as a suggestion I quite like the smaller venue, but perhaps there could be an informal meet-up of HfP’ers at a summer event for example where just hire out an area in a pub/bar and we pay for our own drinks?

    • Polly says:

Agree, conversation flowed nicely, people just catching up. Summer event a great idea, and just pay for your own drinks. The prosecco was a really nice touch, Rob and Anika. Very classy…

  • Talay says:

Looks like a great time was had by all – I must try to extract myself from the business calendar for next year’s event.

  • Sussex bantam says:

Yay. I made a picture ! (Red jumper picture 5). Thanks for a fun evening guys !

Even though I wasn’t there, it’s good to put faces to names, from the photos. It’s odd that some of the nicknames used in the site lead me to think the contributor is male, when in fact, they’re female. I shouldn’t jump to conclusions.

  • Alison says:

Really enjoyed the evening – thank you Rob , Anika and Qatar! I was also lucky enough to win one of the raffle prizes – the Plaza Premium passes.

  • Lee says:

Fantastic night, thanks to Rob and Anika, Qatar, and everyone else who was a part of it. Met some great people and the Dry Martini Bar was a really good venue.

I was the exceptionally lucky winner of the Qatar flight and will definitely be making good use of that, so thank you again to Qatar for the prize!

    • Genghis says:

Nice one! I assume Qatar didn’t throw in a second ticket in the end after the announcement slip up?

      • Lee says:

Haha, they didn’t, I think the second ticket was quickly withdrawn from that announcement! One ticket is perfectly fine by me, that’s all I need!

  • Alex W says:

Looks great, gutted I couldn’t make it. Can we have a weekend date next time?
