One of our readers sent us a link to the non-profit organisation Pack for a Purpose which lists projects and specifically requested items in various locations all over the world.

You are encouraged to pack a few items in your hold luggage – often school supplies such as crayons, maps, calculators etc – when travelling to these destinations to hand over on arrival. It’s definitely something worth considering next time your suitcase is only half full.
