Accor has launched a new promotion for stays at their hotels in the UK and Ireland.

Members of Le Club AccorHotels will receive double base points.  In the past Accor has given a higher bonus to Platinum members but this time it seems that everyone just gets 2x.

You MUST register via this link.

Bookings must be made before 31st August and stays completed by 30th September.  Existing bookings made before 18th July will not count.

There is no minimum stay requirement but you can only earn the bonus three times.

All of the historic Accor brands are included – Ibis Styles, Ibis, Novotel, Mercure, M Gallery, Pullman, Sofitel etc.  The new-style Novotel at Canary Wharf is pictured below.  The Savoy is excluded because the newly integrated Fairmont, Swissotel and Raffles properties do not count although I would expect them to join future promotions.

As an example of what you would earn, a Gold member at the premium brands currently receives 37 points (worth 74 Eurocents of Accor vouchers or 37 Avios) for every €10 spent.  This means that a Gold member receives an additional 25 points per €10 worth 5% of their spending (total 12.4% of your spending back).

Remember that you must sign-up here.

In order to transfer your Accor points to Avios at 1:1, you must transfer them to Iberia Plus and then move them across to British Airways.  Direct transfers to British Airways are at the poorer ratio of 2:1.

But there’s more ….

Whilst you need to register via the website, Accor wants you to book via their app.

To encourage app bookings, any stay booked under this promotion via the Accor app will earn an extra 500 Accor points.  This is on top of double points.

For clarity, you only get the app bonus if you are booking a UK stay for check-in before 30th September.  It won’t trigger on any other bookings.  As with ‘double points’ it is only valid for your first three stays during this period.

500 points are worth €10 of Accor vouchers or 500 Avios if credited to Iberia Plus.  This is a very attractive bonus on cheap, short stays this Summer.

Does 3 separate bookings via the app attract 3 lots of 500 Accor points or is that just a one time thing?

    • Rob says:

The way I read the T&C’s is that you get double points and the 500 app booking bonus up to 3 times.

  • Fadi says:

I’m surprised there has been no mention of fairmont joining Accor.

    • Rob says:

We dropped it in briefly at the time but not hugely relevant given their EU footprint. Accor stuff on HFP is not hugely popular at the best of times.
