Have lunch with Clare Smyth courtesy of your Marriott hotel points

Clare Smyth has a surprisingly low public profile as a chef.  This is, perhaps, an odd thing to say about someone just voted “Best Female Chef in the World” but few people knew that she was head chef at Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea when it was collecting three Michelin stars year after year.

Smyth opened her own restaurant, Core, in Notting Hill last Autumn.  On 9th October, Marriott Moments is organising a special lunch event.

Tickets have been offered in batches over recent months – I redeemed 32,000 Marriott points for a pair earlier in the Summer and will be there on 9th October.  The final batch of auctions are ending soon.

There are two offers.  The first is two places at a champagne and canape reception hosted by Clare followed by a three course lunch with paired wines.  You can bid for that here.

Two lots end on 9th August whilst the final lot ends on 18th August.   There are three further lots on the Starwood auction site which close on 7th September.

The second offer which will undoubtedly go for a higher points price – although has no bids as yet – is a cookery class with Clare followed by the reception and lunch outlined above.  You can bid for that here – the closing date is 30th August.

O/T – could someone please provide me with a number and procedure for calling Iberia Plus about missing points from the recent 9000 Avios per flight promotion. Although I received a letter to state that they have reviewed my case and will pass it to the correct department for the points to be credited, that was over two weeks ago and the points have still not posted. I just need to know who to call to get this sorted once and for all hopefully.

+1. Trying not to waste any time on such a trivial number of points, but they really are testing my resolve.

Anyone used Brussels Airlines economy long haul recently? Have they refitted the planes? Reviews from 2015 say the seats are bad, but I’d read that they have refit the planes recently and have also added bigger seat pitch? Have the choice of standard economy Brussels Airlines or United for LHR-NY.

I flew in that CW in 2000 from Montreal to Heathrow using Air Miles.
    Is WT+ like that now?

OT: Following a wizzair flight I have to kill 2 hours in Vienna airport tomorrow morning. With no onward boarding pass, can I access any of the lounges with my loungeclub pass?
