How to see England v Ireland with Marriott Bonvoy

Marriott Bonvoy is offering tickets to the England v Ireland Six Nations rugby match on 23rd February.

There are two options.  The first offers:

You and a guest can attend the at the Six Nations Championship, and watch the England vs Ireland rugby match from a private balcony at Twickenham Stadium. Your match-time beverage package includes beer, wine and soft drinks until one hour after the final whistle. Before the match starts, go to a meet and greet and have a three-course lunch with English rugby legend Chris Robshaw, and take full advantage of your match day accreditations to experience that day’s programs.

There are four packages, each with two tickets.  They have seen little interest so far, with pricing running from 50,000 points (starting bid) to 64,500 points.  Given that I value a Marriott Bonvoy point at 0.5p, this is excellent value.

You can bid here.

The second package is the same but includes a night AFTER the game in the Twickenham Marriott hotel.  There is only bid so far at 75,000 Bonvoy points, which is the minimum bid allowed.  You can bid here.

OT: Looking to book car for 2 nights in AUH, really after cheap as possible. Any codes people can share? Many thanks.

    • Lady London says:

Do people still use autoslash for car hire?

    • Have you tried travelsupermarket?

      • You know taxis are effectively free in the UAE? When I was in Ras in October is was literally £1 to the mall, each way. Given the low quality and high speed of local drivers there is no reason for a car AT ALL.

  2. Yes and No.

It was there for years called “InStore”, suddenly you couldn’t update your cards, then it disappeared completely in June last year. It was good for Avios from Waitrose, Costa and a few othersl. It’s now been rebranded as “Collect on Card”, the options are pretty poor – 10 Avios per £1 at Odeon isn’t so bad though.

There are various schemes that offer money, points or phone credit when pre-registering cards.

    Key ones are:-

NextJump(employee schemes) – usually good for Waitrose, Morrisons & Matalan
Virgin – usually good for Waitrose and a few others
Airtime Rewards – New and a very wide range.

I’ve registered with all 4 schemes and play roulette with the returns, you never know under which scheme you’ll get the return – sometimes more than one. Only Virgin & BA register Amex cards at the moment.
