Auction house Bonhams is currently running an online charity auction in aid of the NHS Charities Covid-19 Urgent Appeal.

There are some very impressive sporting, event and art lots up for grabs, most of which are genuinely ‘money can’t buy’.

There are five hotel-related lots which I want to highlight:

Lot 2 gets you lunch at Claridge’s with Dame Joan Collins, amongst others, together with an overnight stay in a suite

Lot 27 gets you afternoon tea at Hyatt’s new Great Scotland Yard hotel with the stars of ‘The Crown’, including Olivia Colman, Helena Bonham Carter and Gillian Anderson

Lot 29 gets you champagne afternoon tea at The Ritz with actors Jim Carter and Phyllis Logan, Mr Carson and Mrs Hughes in Downton Abbey

Lot 53 gets you a two night midweek break at The Lygon Arms in the Cotsworlds, pictured above, including breakfast and one dinner

Lot 57 gets you a trip to Caithness for a private tour of the gardens of the Castle of Mey (curated by Her Majesty the Queen Mother) with Alan Titchmarsh, plus two nights at the Granary Lodge in the castle grounds

Other lots include, for example, the chance to have Jeremy Paxman host – via Zoom – a round of University Challenge for two teams of your friends.

You can check out the full list of lots here.  Bidding closes at noon on 29th April.
