How to earn 1,750 Avios with an Avis car rental in September

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Avis is currently running another good Avios offer, which lets you earn at least 1,500 Avios for a minimum 3 day car hire.

This will increase to 1,750 Avios if you pay with a British Airways American Express credit card.

It is valid for rentals in September for three days or more, in selected countries.

What’s the Avis and Avios offer?

If you book an Avis car for three days or more, you will receive 800 bonus Avios.  This is on top of the minimum 700 base Avios you will earn, meaning that you are guaranteed to receive at least 1,500 Avios.

Here is a summary of the small print:

You must rent a Group C or above car for a minimum of 3 days

Bookings made before 1st August do not count so you should cancel and rebook if possible

You need to pick up the car between 1st September and 30th September – the return date can be in October

You must use a British Airways/Avis Worldwide Discount (AWD) number, which we list below, when booking

Valid for rentals in United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and the Netherlands

This Avios bonus is not valid on Prestige, Van or Chauffeur Drive rentals

You can check out the full details on the Avis / BA website here.

How many Avios will I earn?

There’s a minimum rental of 3+ days, which will get you base earnings of 3 Avios per £1, with a minimum of 700 Avios.  This promotion gives you an additional 800 bonus Avios, meaning you will earn at least 1,500 Avios per qualifying rental.

You will also earn an additional 250 Avios if you pay for your rental with a British Airways American Express or British Airways American Express Premium Plus credit card. Assuming you do pay with a BA Amex Card, you will earn a minimum of 1,750 Avios and potentially more depending on how much you spend.

Are there any other Avis / Avios offers available?

Don’t forget about the free additional driver perk if you book via the British Airways discount codes below.  It’s one of the main BA-Avis partnership benefits and can be pretty useful if you are travelling with someone else.

In addition, Avis also has two other Avios bonuses you can collect on top of this offer:

  • If you join Avis Preferred for free you will collect an additional 1,000 bonus Avios on your first Preferred rental
  • If you rent with Avis four times in a calendar year, you will earn 1,000 bonus Avios

How do I book the 1,500 Avios offer?

There’s a dedicated booking site for Avis and BA which you can find here and which automatically adds the correct discount code.

If you use avis.co.uk, you will need to manually add the British Airways discount codes (AWD). These are based on your British Airways Executive Club status:

Gold members – N744400

Silver members – N744300

Bronze members – N284300

Blue members – N744100

Full details of this offer and all of the partnership benefits are on the Avis / BA website here.  The full HfP guide to earning Avios from Avis car rentals is here.

It’s no Iberia/Avis offer is it if folks remember it well 😀

  • Phillip says:

Is it just me? – it doesn’t seem to show the bonus offer, only the base Avios when going through the dedicated site!
