  The Mandolrian is the best thing on Disney+

  Last couple of episodes were Cinema quality in story and visuals.

    Disagree – Wandavision is at least on par if not better (but requires some pre-requisite knowledge of the Avengers/Thanos storyline)!

    + 1 The Mandolorian is brilliant too! A fantastic cast – I particularly liked Timothy Olyphant and Katee Sackhoff’s recurring characters.

  Slingbox are switching off their servers next year. I was looking for a replacement to stream Sky when I’m away. I’ve come across something similar by VBox Communications: https://vboxcomm.com/product/vbox-android-tv-gateway-for-satellite/

  Does anyone have any experience of a VBox? Will it do the job that Slingbox did?

    I’ve not used one of those, but you could look at buying something like a Hauppage PVR and connect it to a Raspberry Pi. The use the Pi to multicast over a network that you could then access using something like VLC player.

    I’ve had every Slingbox made and watched uk Tv over the crappiest 300kb wifi in remote deserts because their compression algorithm was fab. The Pi Vpn alternative has been extremely stable but needs a decent 1mb wifi connexion. The need to place shift your subscription media services looks timely with a new box. Looks like I need to spend some more cash. Currently we use HDhomerun but this is about as stable as a house of cards in a hurricane.

  Hi Rob, I spotted your comment about Apple TV+ and wanted to chime in.
  I struggle with the need to scroll endlessly to find something, anything worth watching on streaming services. Fortunately there are streaming service search engines, I use JustWatch (https://www.justwatch.com/uk) by which I select only the service I’m interested in, and to sort by popularity or iMDb score.
  I had a free trial to Amazon Prime Video and now a free trial to Apple TV+, and though I haven’t used the latter much, the one thing I made time to watch on there was On the Rocks with Bill Murray, which I highly recommend.

  Would a gift subscription that covers the annual cost qualify? I have a 6 month free Disney+ subscription from a recent Sonos purchase that still has 4 months to run. I’m thinking I could buy an annual pass under my wife’s name and start it when my trial expires.

  If you are looking for watchable content on Apple TV+. check out Servant and Ted Lasso. Don’t be put off by the football theme of Ted Lasso, it’s so much more than that. Happy viewing.

    I got Apple TV+ free for a year for buying an Apple product and am hoping it lasts long enough to get Ted Lasso season 2. Absolutely brilliant show. My wife has zero interest in football and was the one saying “one more episode!” every evening. Really really beautiful show.

    A number of other titles on Apple TV+ are also well worth the watch, very happily surprised at the quality of their shows. If Ted Lasso season 2 doesn’t come out during my free trial I will definitely subscribe.
