  This is not correct if you are double vaccinated and arrive from an amber zone then:-
  “If you’ve been fully vaccinated in UK, Republic of Ireland, Guernsey or Isle of Man you’ll need a test on arrival but won’t need to isolate“

  I can’t see the rationale for Jersey. There are loads of people who live in the red areas but but spend very little time there, and conversely people who work in those areas (including in hospitals!) who don’t live there. Also you could have a double jabbed visitor from a red area and a non-jabbed one from a green area. Ludicrous.

    It was looking quite good until it stated vaccinated people from red areas have to isolate.
    Why have the jab if you are still going to have to isolate, either places accept the jabs work, as early data shows it does.
    By the time the clowns pull their heads, from where the sun don’t shine, everyone will be needing boosters.
    What are these idiots thinking…….

  Do you know the criteria for going from green to amber? Eg Is it when you reach a certain number of cases per hundred thousand. Is it known which two days of the week they will do any changes?. Due to be going there next week

    From gov.je “Individual regions or countries may be reclassified Red (Emergency Brake) when there is evidence of very high risk through infection rates or variants of concern or both.

    The emergency brake data will be run twice a week and we aim to give 48 hours’ notice before any changes. The Red classification will apply for a minimum of 14 days.”
    In the past they have published re-classification on Thursdays. The first emergency brake red areas were all places identified with the delta variant.

  I’ve noticed these monthly subscriptions for things like Amazon music are all the rage right now. While £7 – £10 a month doesn’t sound like much, especially when your first month or two or three is free, it really does add up especially if you end up paying for things you rarely or never use.

  How much do people think they’re currently paying on total for discretionary entertainment subscriptions each months? (So not things like mobile phone or wifi or gym membership). I’m talking things like streaming TV, music, kindle, gaming, free delivery shopping etc. More than £100 per month? £200?

    Gym alone can be more than £100. music and TV streaming £30+ depending on the service, then there’s all the fancy packaged dinner services at £20+/mo. I’ve culled all my subscriptions other than Netflix/Prime and saved about £120/mo.

      I pay for Apple Music and use it daily, so am very happy to do so. I don’t go to the gym and never would, so don’t buy that. Yes subscriptions can add up, and yes you do need to question whether you’re getting value, but they can be good products and really it’s no different from buying anything else you like and use.

        Those of us of a certain age (and not particularly old) used to pay for magazine and newspaper subscriptions. Amazon, Netflix, et al are just the modern versions. And people used to have the same discussions about magazines arriving every month and being unread or barely read.

          Magazine subscriptions really aren’t the same. If you stop paying you can still re-read all of the magazines you’ve ever received. Stop paying for Apple Music and you’ve got literally nothing to show for the months/years you’ve been paying. Seriously: put the money aside and just buy the music you like. There’s a reason entertainment companies push subscription services so heavily and it’s not because they want to offer you more choice or convenience.

    Gym membership at £25/month and Peloton Digital membership at £12.99 (bought a spin bike in lockdown).

    No other recurring payments. I use my dad’s netflix.

    Use a VPN if you want cheaper services. The VPN is only required to sign up, once you turn it off your service will be connected to the country you are in.

    I pay monthly –
    Netflix 4K plan – £2.50 via Argentina
    YouTube Premium Family – £1.40 via Turkey
    Spotify Family Plan – £5 via Australia (this is more difficult as it’s not VPN dependant but you need a payment card from that country)

    In total around £9 per month, with all the plans being multi user plans I’ve sold a slot on each service as a package deal with friends. 5 slots on each service paying me £20 a year.

    Putting my yearly cost for those services at around £25 a year.

    Amazon Prime £3.99/month with any .ac email account, don’t have to be a Student.

    A VPN can also help you get sports packages for much cheaper than Sky.

    Agreed. Assuming that it’s mostly HfP readers taking part in the absence of an article, publicising the auctions like this is just a value transfer from the readership to Hilton. Better to promote ‘buy it now’ packages or highlight reader successes from past auctions.

      Why should a double jabbed person be penalised fir living in a red area, dies that mean the vaccine doesn’t work as well in those areas……🤡🤡🤡
