  I’m driving down on the 24th for a day trip.
  Hopefully there’s an early bus from Hounslow to T3 as my plans to catch the tube are now down the drain.

      Tube stations are cheap to park at for the day. Possibly up to £50 if I use airport parking.

      Going to be there at the crack of dawn anyway, so there shouldn’t be any issues.

        Check just park. You can find some cheap parking on Bath road usually.

        Also consider the moxy car park it’s right next to a bus stop.

        We recently used the T5 Meet and Greet and it cost just under £200 for over 3 weeks so don’t overlook this as an option. I would previously have assumed LHR parking to be unaffordable

          There’s loads of buses from Hounslow to heathrow. They actually run all day and night every day of the year except the 25th.

          This is really only a story about LU closure. The rail connections to paddington are running the exact same service they’ve had for the last 5ish years, it’s been ages since they last operated on Christmas Day itself.

  And Heathrow airport will of course assist customers by suspending the outrageous drop off charge while there is no alternative means of getting to the airport!

    There are loads of alternative means of getting to the airport. Throughout the Picc closure there are non-stop replacement coaches operating from Hammersmith to Terminals 2/3 and Terminal 5. There is also an all stations replacement bus between Acton Town and Heathrow 2/3. TfL never operates on the 25th, and with the exception of the 26th TfL Rail also operates to/from Paddington. This is in addition to the usual vast range of deatinatims served by local buses and express coaches, the latter also providing a 24/7/365 link to Victoria Coach Station.

  The Oxford Tube has traditionally served Heathrow, as a part of their hourly Christmas Day service enroute to London, but they aren’t running any service on Christmas Day this year.

  Train Waterloo to Feltham then the bus (285 to central bus station, I forget the one to T5) is another easy route.
