(SOLD OUT) easyJet launches a £695 advent calendar – and it’s probably worth the money

Whilst my children have been badgering me for a cheap chocolate-filled advent calendar from the supermarket, you may want to splash out on something a little more luxurious for yourself.

easyJet may have the answer. Take a look here.

easyJet has launched what it is calling an ‘Advent(ure) Calendar’. There are 12 drawers, each containing special travel treats.

The project will raise funds for Age UK.

Whilst costing £695, easyJet claims that the contents are worth over £1,500. This is potentially true and you could do even better.

You will receive:

  • four pairs of return flights for two including hold luggage – this could be very valuable as you seem to be getting virtually guaranteed availability
  • £45 to spend on easyJet’s onboard bistro
  • £75 of vouchers to spend on tours and excursions via ‘GetYourGuide’
  • A £50 car rental discount voucher

What is the small print on the flight redemptions?

There are very few restrictions, which makes it easier to get real value from this package. There are only three rules worth noting:

  • flights to Dalaman and Sharm el Sheikh are excluded
  • each pair of tickets cannot have a cash value of more than £750 (which gives you a huge amount of leeway, because even peak season easyJet flights rarely get beyond £375 return per person)
  • you cannot split a pairs of flights – each booking must be for two people who travel together (ie a solo traveller cannot have eight free flights)

The only thing that is not clear is if you can use two vouchers on the same flight for a family of four. This would technically break the rules on the buyer or recipient being a traveller on each voucher, although the buyer is ‘using’ the voucher and would be travelling. It also isn’t clear if pairs of flights could be gifted to different people.

All vouchers must be redeemed between 1st December 2021 and 31st December 2022.

The calendar is on sale now via this link where you can also find full terms and conditions. Quantities are described as ‘limited’ which is not surprising, given that 100% of your payment is going to Age UK.
