(SOLD OUT) easyJet launches a £695 advent calendar – and it’s probably worth the money

Whilst my children have been badgering me for a cheap chocolate-filled advent calendar from the supermarket, you may want to splash out on something a little more luxurious for yourself.

easyJet may have the answer. Take a look here.

easyJet has launched what it is calling an ‘Advent(ure) Calendar’. There are 12 drawers, each containing special travel treats.

The project will raise funds for Age UK.

Whilst costing £695, easyJet claims that the contents are worth over £1,500. This is potentially true and you could do even better.

You will receive:

  • four pairs of return flights for two including hold luggage – this could be very valuable as you seem to be getting virtually guaranteed availability
  • £45 to spend on easyJet’s onboard bistro
  • £75 of vouchers to spend on tours and excursions via ‘GetYourGuide’
  • A £50 car rental discount voucher

What is the small print on the flight redemptions?

There are very few restrictions, which makes it easier to get real value from this package. There are only three rules worth noting:

  • flights to Dalaman and Sharm el Sheikh are excluded
  • each pair of tickets cannot have a cash value of more than £750 (which gives you a huge amount of leeway, because even peak season easyJet flights rarely get beyond £375 return per person)
  • you cannot split a pairs of flights – each booking must be for two people who travel together (ie a solo traveller cannot have eight free flights)

The only thing that is not clear is if you can use two vouchers on the same flight for a family of four. This would technically break the rules on the buyer or recipient being a traveller on each voucher, although the buyer is ‘using’ the voucher and would be travelling. It also isn’t clear if pairs of flights could be gifted to different people.

All vouchers must be redeemed between 1st December 2021 and 31st December 2022.

The calendar is on sale now via this link where you can also find full terms and conditions. Quantities are described as ‘limited’ which is not surprising, given that 100% of your payment is going to Age UK.

Think that’s the best and cleverest offer I’ve seen in awhile. Well done Easy.

  • Anna says:

What a great idea, I would have definitely bought this but can’t possibly fit in 4 extra trips next year!

    • Russ says:

We’re sure you’ll find a way to justify an extra four trips by next year 🙂

      • Anna says:

Still using up all the vouchers from the last 18 months! I think quite a lot of people will be in the same position.

  • Tony says:

Great idea – just on chat trying to purchase… it’s painfully slow going

  • Alex W says:

Sounds like an amazing deal! Presumably a family of four could use 2 pairs of tickets on the same flights to get 2 return family holidays? Can’t see anything to the contrary.

    • Rob says:

I would be surprised if they stopped you but it isn’t clear. Arguably you – the buyer – are using the free tickets since you are on the booking so you would expect to be fine.

  • PaulC says:

Can the ticket pairs be used by different couples?
I don’t think we can manage another 4 trips next year but possible 2 with our parents if they can use the other 2 tickets?

    • Rob says:

It’s not fully clear. It says the tickets can be used by the buyer or whoever the buyers gift it to – but there is no mention of whether the same people must redeem each time (although the implication is that, yes, the same people must be travelling each time).

      • Adam says:

If anyone finds out the answer to this then please post. I have asked the question a) can two return flights be used in one go (i.e. can a family of 4 use 2 x return flights to get everyone on the same flight) and b) can the flights be gifted (i.e. can I get my parents on the same flight too).

        • Mark1980 says:

Looks like a no-go. Just had this on live chat:
Satyam: I would like to inform you the one advent calendar can be used for 2 passengers only

          • Andrew says:

In response to my question, could I used the flight vouchers to take my family to Spain in 2022 (8 adults)? I was told by Neelam via the live chat that:
“You need to use 4 vouchers for 8 people. 2 people per bookings.”

          • Adam says:

Shivangi says: ‘you may use the vouchers for anyone. It has nothing to do with the names’

          • Jamjaw says:

I have also been told anyone can use the voucher – so they can be share.

            What a bargain!

          • Adam says:

Yes just bought one – hoping it’s a good decision!

  • Paul says:

Very smart. Great job EasyJet! Like others, I would purchase this however plenty of flights already booked for next year thanks to various cancellations.

  • Ann says:

eBay has some nice L’OCCITANE’s Advent Calendars which would work well with the 50x nectar offer

  • Jamjaw says:

I am trying to buy but appears to have to be done through live chat? Perfect for school holiday flights!

    • Tony says:

It does but they are having technical issues with providing a payment link. Have said to try later

    • Jamjaw says:

Got through and bought – wonderful deal as long as works as advertised! T&Cs saved along with chat log saying anyone can use flight vouchers
