Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

See what you can win at the Head for Points 10th Birthday Party next week

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

For those of you who were quick enough to get a ticket for the Head for Points 10th Birthday Party next Wednesday, sponsored by Barclaycard, we look forward to seeing you at the Renaissance St Pancras hotel.

Thank you for your support – we were genuinely unsure what the demand for tickets was going to be like, post-covid.  As it happens, all 500 tickets sold out in seven minutes!

When you arrive you will be given a raffle ticket.  We have arranged some very decent prizes which we will draw at around 8pm.  Note that you must still be in the room at 8pm or you will forfeit your prize.

Attendees will receive an email on Monday with final details about the event.

We like to keep the raffle shorter for our summer parties but I hope you agree that we’ve got some good stuff thanks to our industry partners. Here’s what you can win.

Win a Business Class holiday in Malaysia

Malaysia Airlines is kindly providing the headline prize:

  • Two Business Class flights to Kotu Kinabulu in Malaysian Borneo, via Kuala Lumpur, plus a two day package in a premium chalet at the Sutera Mantanani Resort on Mantanani Besar island provided by the Sabah Tourism Board and Malaysia Airlines

The winner will be able to arrange their flights to build in time in Kuala Lumpur and possibly even Langkawi, as well as a couple of days in Borneo.

The Malaysia Airlines team will be at the party and will be happy to chat about their services. Remember that, as a oneworld alliance partner, you can earn and spend Avios on Malaysia Airlines, as well as earning British Airways Executive Club tier points on cash tickets. British Airways no longer flies to Kuala Lumpur so Malaysia Airlines is now your obvious route to Malaysia.

Talk about rubbing the salt in, unfortunately I like many other didn’t get a ticket. Maybe one of the prizes could be raffled to the folks who applied or on the waiting list?

  • Jill Kinkell says:

Having been offered a ticket ,( yippee!) decided to take a couple of days in London for party and family and an exhibition visit. I even booked a flight! ( it won’t be wasted!) My well planned days for everything fell apart with the rail strikes. The alternative date didn’t suit either of us. So near, but…..

    • Rhys says:

Yes, RMT announcing the strikes 3 days after tickets went on sale wasn’t great timing on their part!

  • pauldb says:

If I can’t now make the rearranged date, can the ticket be given to someone else so you’re not down on numbers? Any takers?

    • Flightsy says:

Can I have it? I have a friend who would love to come and was gutted to miss out on the event. She was very jealous that I got a ticket (which to be fair was a waitlist reallocation).

    • Simon says:

Hi Pauldb, after missing out on tickets twice, I’m interested (and on the waiting list) if you can’t make it. Guess we should form an orderly queue. Good luck with the raffle to everyone attending!

      • pauldb says:

I don’t think I can return I through Eventbrite so I’m happy to pass it to the first hand raised if HfP will facilitate that?

    • Garry says:

Would love to attend if ticket is available

  • Nick says:

To raise further revenue for good causes you could ‘ raffle’ the tickets to attend, tickets for said raffle £10 each

    • Rob says:

You get into tricky legal rules on raffles if you don’t fully control who buys them, for eg we’d need to ban anyone in Northern Ireland for a start. That’s before we start on ensuring that no-one outside the UK gets involved. It would be too messy.

      • Jonathan says:

Why are NI residents exempt from being allowed to enter into such things like this that may come around ?

I can understand that it it has to be UK residents only

        • Rob says:

Ask their Government …. on the odd occasion you can find it functioning 🙂

  • will says:

If anyone cant make it closer to the time, I’d love to go but couldn’t make the first date hence not on waiting list but can travel at relatively short notice.

  • Ad says:

Hi, if anyone has a spare ticket I am able to attend at short notice, please message me. Thanks.

  • Angie G says:

Very late notice but if anyone still wants a ticket, let me know.
