Air Canada and Emirates have announced their intention to create a new partnership.
Launching in late 2022, the codeshare deal will allow passengers to book flights with Emirates to destinations across Canada via Toronto, and Air Canada customers to book connecting flights onwards from Dubai, all on one ticket.

Part of the deal will include launching “reciprocal frequent flyer benefits”. Further details of what this means will not be announced until all regulatory approvals have been agreed.
In theory, however, it could allow for Air Canada Aeroplan to offer redemptions on Emirates and, perhaps more relevant for UK readers, Emirates Skywards members to redeem on Air Canada.
We’ll return to this topic later in the year when full details are available.
