Arsenal tickets bookable again with Emirates Skywards miles or American Express points

Emirates has released the first batch of Arsenal football tickets for 2022/23 for Emirates Skywards members who have miles to redeem.  You can also use American Express Membership Rewards points via a transfer.

The great news is that the pricing of VIP hospitality is back at normal levels after some crazy numbers last year. There are no more examples of 60,000+ miles per seat (the craziest we ever saw was 117,000 miles) – you can now pick up a VIP box seat for as little as 35,000 miles.

VIP seating from as little as 35,000 miles

Tickets are now bookable for the first home games of the season.

The pricing is quoted is for standard seats – which are reportedly very good ones – and then VIP hospitality, per person.

  • Leicester on 13th August (10,000 miles / 40,000 miles)
  • Fulham on 27th August (10,000 miles / 35,000 miles)
  • Aston Villa on 30th August (10,000 miles / 40,000 miles)
  • Everton on 10th September (10,000 miles / 40,000 miles)
  • Tottenham on 1st October (12,500 miles / 50,000 miles)
  • Liverpool on 8th October (n/a / 50,000 miles)
  • Manchester City on 18th October (12,500 miles / 50,000 miles)
  • Nottingham Forest on 29th October (10,000 miles / 35,000 miles)
  • West Ham on 26th December (10,000 miles / 40,000 miles)

Assuming that you are still in The Emirates Box, it is VERY good.  It is the best located box in the stadium and you get good quality hot food before, during and after the game.  Here is a review of a past trip although I have been 7-8 times since.

I tend to take the cheapest games, because my son would prefer to see Arsenal hit four past a weak team than watch them draw 0-0 against Manchester United.

What is weird is that the Emirates website is now saying “(Beverages are not included, but can be bought seperately)”. This doesn’t make sense because its not as if the box is set up for taking payment. Has the box been changed? Is there someone with an iZettle machine now? Are the VIP clients invited by Emirates also being stung for their drinks? It’s a bit odd.

10,000 to 12,500 miles for standard admission is good value

Emirates Skywards miles remain an excellent way of getting standard admission tickets.

You can’t get Arsenal tickets in general sale unless you are a club member, and even members are going to struggle to get hold of resales for some of the big games listed above.

How to book

Full details and booking is available on this page of the Emirates website.

You cannot get a refund if the time or date of the game is changed for TV purposes and you can no longer attend.

Tickets cannot be transferred.  However, tickets are now sent electronically and do not need to be collected in person from the Arsenal offices on the day, so I don’t know if this is enforced.

Transfers from American Express Membership Rewards to Emirates Skywards are instantaneous if the accounts are already linked and should be pretty quick even if they are not. The conversion rate is 1:1.

PS. If you’re not an Arsenal fan, remember that Travelzoo has launched a new part of its website where Premier League clubs can dump their unsold hospitality packages. These are good value.

How to earn Emirates Skywards miles from UK credit cards

How to earn Emirates Skywards miles from UK credit cards (March 2024)

Emirates Skywards does not have a UK credit card.  However, you can earn Emirates Skywards miles by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

Cards earning Membership Rewards points include:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:1 into Emirates Skywards miles which is an attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 1 Emirates Skywards mile. The Gold card earns double points (2 per £1) on all flights you charge to it.

  • Dave says:

Can points in the emirates family pot be used for this? Reduces risk of name being checked etc

    • Fazzy Bear says:

They dont check. Even last season when you had to collect physically, all they wanted was a email printout.

      • Rob says:

Historically they have been fussy about photo ID in the office.

Remember that reselling Premier League tickets is a criminal offence so they need to be seen to be doing their bit.

  • BSI1978 says:

Whilst they had a better season last year, it may be time to update that 4th paragraph…from memory they gave Manchester United a bit of tonking at home as well! 3 nil rather than 4 though…..

    • Guernsey Globetrotter says:

It was 3-1. United did beat Arsenal 3-2 in the reverse fixture.

  • The Streets says:

Arsenal are back in the Europa League this season so we may also see the return of even cheaper redemptions for some of these games once the draw has been made

  • Hammaad says:

Does anyone know where the general admissions seats are located in the stadium?

    • Fazzy Bear says:

SIDE VIEW – but closer to the corner flag than centre.

  • ianM says:

Is it 1:1 for Amex points transfers?

  • Tom says:

I need 150 points to hit 10,000, is the Emirates mall my best option? Does anyone know how quickly the points arrive?

    • Rob says:

That would depend on what you buy – could take weeks. If you need 10k now and you don’t have any Amex Membership Rewards points then I think you’d need to buy them.

However, in this situation you can often find that ringing the call centre and asking nicely may get you the 10k as a goodwill gesture.

  • Gregg says:

Hi – do you know how the tickets are issued? My skywards account is showing that I’ve purchased two tickets but there’s no further info on how to access them. Thanks!

    • Rob says:

Not sure – I’ve not done one since they moved to eticketing.

  • Stewart says:

Is anyone else having trouble either a) seeing any Arsenal tickets for sale on emirates.com (only footy tix I can see are for Lyon) or b) logging into their Skywards account (I get a ‘we are updating your experience, please try later’)?

    • Rob says:

Arsenal seats seem to have all gone. Standard seats went the day our article ran and I guess the VIP ones have now gone too.

      • Stewart says:

thanks Rob – wanted second half of season anyway so will keep my eyes open.
