We have teamed up with a major credit card company to host an exclusive private dinner party for SME owners.

Our partner is interested in what small business owners think of both their cards as well as those of the competition. As Head for Points readers are never short of an opinion they want to sit down with you and hear what you have to say about the state of the industry.

If you own an SME and hold one or more SME credit cards please keep reading.

Head for Points reader dinner at The London EDITION hotel

Rob, Sinead and I will be hosting an exclusive private dinner at The London EDITION hotel in Soho on Tuesday 1st November for around 30 guests.

Whilst this is a market research event, it will be very informal. There are no one-on-one interviews and – whilst we will be discussing SME credit cards around the table – we don’t expect conversation to stay on-topic all night!

Places are limited

Our credit card partner is specifically looking at feedback from SME cardholders. In order to meet the requirements of the people paying the bill, we are limiting spots to owners of SMEs with turnover of £500,000+.

It is helpful if you have held one of the SME cards listed below for 1+ years, although it is not strictly necessary:

  • American Express Business Gold Card
  • American Express Business Platinum Card
  • Barclaycard Select Cashback Credit Card
  • British Airways Accelerating Business American Express Card
  • Capital On Tap Business Rewards Visa Card

The evening will begin with a drinks reception from 6pm on the balcony overlooking the lobby (above).  At 7pm we move to a private dining room for dinner.  The event will finish around 10pm.

There is no cost to attend. Our partner is covering everything – the drinks reception, the meal, wine with the meal and tea and coffee afterwards.

We are limiting places to one per person (no +1) as this is a small event.  Let’s be honest – if your partner is not well-versed in reward credit cards or travel loyalty they are unlikely to fully enjoy the evening anyway!

We hope it will be an enjoyable evening with a unique opportunity to give direct feedback to a credit card provider that is looking for new ways to impress. You will also have the chance to chat to Rob, Sinead and myself as well as networking with the other guests.

If you would like to join us, please register your interest by completing the form here before midnight on Monday.

There are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answers to the questions on the form. We will use it to ensure that we get a good mix of guests, based on both business size and the cards you currently do or don’t have.

We will contact successful applicants next week to confirm your attendance and menu choices.  We look forward to seeing you on 1st November – the EDITION is a genuinely lovely venue with a well regarded kitchen and wine list, and you should meet some interesting people as well.

  • Mark says:

Would have loved to attend and hold the cards, but alas. Busy time for me.

  • MT says:

Would have been great to join, but the understandable lack of +1, rules it out for me. We are both very much into the rewards card scene and SME, but commitments mean when we are in London time together is the important thing.

  • L Allen says:

Sadly I am not eligible as my turnover (being a one-person freelance operator) is under the £500k limit. I’m sure it’ll be a great event!

    • sayling says:

      Same

    • Chas says:

Same. Would have loved to come, and currently hold 2 of those cards, and have in the past held a 3rd. In the unlikely event that you don’t get 30 attendees registered, and the partner is happy to relax the t/o requirements, I’d be very happy to attend.

  • John says:

Presumably this is a Barclaycard sponsored event? Will you confirm for those attending?

  • VinZ says:

Filled it in, I hope I can finally make an event!

  • A says:

Dammit, 499,995 turnover rules me out.

  • Colin Hawker says:

I completed the form yesterday morning but I didn’t get an auto acknowledgment. Is this correct or did I likely make an error?

  • Vinz says:

When do you expect to decide on the attendees please? Thank you

    • Rob says:

Rhys was putting a list together yesterday. We had around 100 names so we are whittling down to get a mix of business types, sizes and cards help. Trickier than it sounds.
