LAST DAY: Get a 50% rebate on Virgin Atlantic reward flights in ALL cabins
Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission. See here for all partner links.
Virgin Atlantic has been running an exceptionally good rebate deal on Virgin Points reward flight bookings.
You will be given back 50% of your Virgin Points after you have travelled. Full taxes and charges are still payable.
The offer covers the US and Caribbean routes. All travel classes are included. TODAY, 7th November, is the last day to book.

Take a look on this page of the Virgin Atlantic website.
Here are the rules:
- You must book by tonight, 7th November 2022
- You must complete your travel by 25th March 2023
- You must fly to the United States or Caribbean – no other routes are participating
- You must fly on a Virgin Atlantic aircraft on a flight carrying a VS flight number – you cannot redeem on Delta Air Lines or any other partners
- All cabins are included – Economy, Premium, Upper
- The offer only applies to ‘all points’ booking, not ‘cash and points’
- The discount also applies to upgrades
- The deal is not valid on Gold Reward Seats (reward seats booked with double points by Gold members)
- Upgrade Rewards and Companion Rewards, including those earned on Virgin Atlantic Credit Cards, ARE included
- You MUST be a member of Virgin Red (join here, free) and have linked your Virgin Flying Club account to your Virgin Red account BEFORE booking
- The points will be rebated to the account of the lead booker within 28 days of your return flight once travel has been completed
Is this a good deal?
I think so, yes.
The central issue is the taxes and charges, which are now close to £1,000 on Upper Class tickets to the United States. There is no reduction here.
However, with the cost of an Upper Class redemption coming down to as little as 47,500 Virgin Points return after the 50% rebate, this is still a very strong deal.
It’s obviously a shame that Virgin Atlantic has chosen to give a 50% rebate rather than simply discounting redemptions by 50%. This means that those with smaller balances cannot book.

What is Virgin Atlantic reward availability like?
It has improved MASSIVELY in the last few months.
Virgin Atlantic now guarantees 12 reward seats on every flight – read our coverage here
This comprises:
- two seats in Upper Class (review here)
- two seats in Premium (review here)
- eight seats in Economy
Whilst obviously many seats will have been taken for flights you are interested in, the sheer number of seats now made available means that you should find something on your preferred routes.
How many points do you need?
This chart covers the entire route network, including Tampa which is launching next week.
Tampa is the only route where you are guaranteed the new A330neo aircraft and the new Upper Class Suite. Here is our A330neo Upper Class review after the inaugural flight last week.
Whilst the entire network is below, only the US and Caribbean routes are included in this promotion.

Short of points?
As we covered last week, Virgin Atlantic is running a ‘buy points’ deal at the moment.
Gold and Silver members of Flying Club receive a 70% bonus when they buy points, other members get 60%.
Here is our article. Click here to buy. There is no guarantee that the points post instantly but this is usually the case.
Of course, transferring points from American Express Membership Rewards at 1:1, or converting any Tesco Clubcard vouchers you have at £2.50 = 625 Virgin Points, is cheaper – but slower.
Conclusion
If you are planning a US or Caribbean trip before the end of March, this deal is well worth a look. Even with the chunky taxes and charges you are still getting good value.
Don’t forget – you MUST have opened a Virgin Red account and linked it to your Virgin Flying Club account before booking. You will not receive your 50% points rebate if you don’t.
Click here to read the full details and to book. Remember that the offer ends tonight, Monday.
