Good deal at the InterContinental Edinburgh The George hotel

Reader Alan sent me details of a good promotion for InterContinental Edinburgh The George pictured below. This is on Scottish daily deals site Itison – see here.
For £189 (£204 on a Saturday night) you receive:
- Overnight stay in a classic double or twin room (+£15 if you want a superior room)
- A bottle of wine and charcuterie board and a hot chocolate brownie dessert, all in your room on arrival
- Includes breakfast
Whether the deal makes sense clearly depends on the cash rate at the time, but this feels pretty good value to me.
You can stay up to 31st March. The only blackout dates are 11th February, 12th March and 18th March but the hotel has an unpublished cap on the number of voucher bookings it will accept per night.
As this is a third party deal you won’t receive IHG One Rewards points or have any status benefit honoured.
You have 14 days from ordering to request a refund for your voucher, so you should have a stay date in mind at the point of purchase and then try to secure a booking as soon as it arrives.
