The bad news is that the number of routes are restricted. Full details are on the Virgin Atlantic website here.

Are BA planning to do anything similar in the future

      Sale starts 11th May apparently…

If your source is a new poster on the BA flyer talk board with a grand total of 4 posts then take it with a huge pinch of salt.

  • Chris W says:

Kudos to Virgin for doing this. It’s benefits both the airline and consumer to discount the price of redemption seats on routes that clearly aren’t full last minute.

Sure the surcharges suck. But while the US programs have dynamic pricing with 80k one way economy redemption seats across the Atlantic, not only does Virgin stick with an award chart, they also do regular discounts.

  • Qrfan says:

The real bad news is that unless you fly in the next few weeks these are limp discounts, and they’re exclusive to cabins that you don’t really want to fly these distances in. Weak offer.

  • aseftel says:

Never realised that, according to VS, AUS is ‘West’ rather than ‘Midwest and South’.

  • MD says:

“There is no discount for Upper Class flights.”

    🙄

    • Chrisasaurus says:

But dont worry the charges were high enough to keep you from redeeming anyways
