Earn 1,000 bonus Avios with Avis car rentals to 30th June

Avis has launched a decent bonus offer if you are planning to rent a car before the end of June.

There is only one snag – the offer is from Aer Lingus and not British Airways. This means that:

Avis Avios offer

You will receive 1,000 bonus Avios with your rental. This is in addition to the usual Aer Lingus rate of 5 Avios per €1.

The rules are:

  • you must rent a Group C car or above
  • you must rent for 3+ days
  • you must book by 31st May
  • you must pick up your rental by 30th June
  • you must either book at cars.aerlingus.com or add the relevant Aer Lingus CWD discount codes to your booking if made at avis.com

The offer is valid at ‘participating’ locations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and North America. Some franchised outlets will not participate – this is likely to be the case in locations such as Jersey. Any booking from a mainstream international airport or city centre location should be fine.

The deal is not valid on Prestige, Van or Chauffeur Drive rentals.

You find out more at the Aer Lingus car rental website here.

PS. Did you know that you can now earn Avios when you rent cars with Hertz, SIXT, Europcar and Rentalcars.com? You need to credit your rental to a Qatar Privilege Club account and transfer the Avios to British Airways. This article tells you more.

Anyone aware of any 1 way deals?
I’m looking for a 1 way Manchester to Heathrow end of June.
The hertz and europcar deals both don’t seem to be available

  • MattB says:

I made an avis booking (directly) for over Easter and am 100% sure I put my BA number in during checkout but haven’t received anything yet. How long do the avios normally take to post?

  • F says:

Rented in Feb (I think) last time there was a bonus didn’t get any credited.

  • Matthew says:

Typo Rob in last paragraph ‘rent cards’. But thanks for the info as I didn’t know that about Rentalcars.com.

  • Philondon says:

If I hire a car for 3 days and pay in advance but return it the evening of day 2, will it still count as a 3 day hire and get the points?

I want a car from 12th morning to 14th May evening but if I select 15th morning then put the key in the drop box 14th evening.

Are prices on the BA Avis site the same as Aer Lingus before I bother creating an account?

    • Rob says:

If you have it for 49 hours it will count as 3 days. If you return it inside 48 hours it will treated as 2 days.
