After substantial delays (we first wrote about it in 2021) Virgin Hotels Glasgow is finally opening.

Set on Clyde Street it will have 242 rooms, a ‘Commons Club’ restaurant and a cafe. Many rooms will have panoramic views of the river – see above.

Reservations are now being taken from 24th July. Pricing over the summer starts at £280 per night which seems punchy, but let’s see.

Virgin Hotels Glasgow

Virgin Hotels has surprised us. I was at the launch event for Virgin Hotels Edinburgh earlier this year (although it actually opened in 2022) and Rhys was at the opening of Virgin Hotels New York City. Anyone expecting a ‘W’-style hotel will be disappointed – these are classy, sophisticated hotels to which we would happily return.

Our review of Virgin Hotels Edinburgh is here and our review of Virgin Hotels New York City is here. We look forward to trying Glasgow soon.

The website for Virgin Hotels Glasgow is here.

The benefits you get as a Virgin Flying Club elite member at Virgin Hotels are outlined here. For odd reasons the UK hotels are excluded from earning Virgin Points.
