Whilst British Airways flights normally become available for cash or Avios bookings at 355 days before departure, there has been a delay in loading the London Gatwick timetable for Summer 2024.

The new BA Euroflyer operation at Gatwick is still finding its feet and, like any start up, doesn’t have perfect visibility of where it will be in 12 months time. However, the Summer 2024 schedule has started to drop into ba.com over recent weeks.

The flights listed below are now bookable for cash or Avios.

Due to the 355 day rule, you can currently book up to mid June 2024.

What is BA Euroflyer?

As a reminder, British Airways has decided to launch a new standalone airline to operate its short haul flights from London Gatwick. At BA Euroflyer, the flight crew and cabin crew will be on different contracts with poorer pay and conditions than their Heathrow counterparts.

To the customer, BA Euroflyer will look and feel exactly like a standard British Airways flight. There will be no difference in terms of baggage rules, seat selection, lounge access, food and drink etc.

Club Europe is available as usual. It uses a different caterer to Heathrow but this was always the case pre-covid. I have been very impressed by recent meals from Gatwick and arguably the food is slightly better than the Heathrow offering.

The only obvious difference is the cabin crew, who are noticeably younger (and arguably less switched on) than their Heathrow counterparts.

Where can I fly on BA from Gatwick next Summer?

In the airline world, ‘Summer’ runs from the end of March to the end of October.

British Airways will be serving the following short haul routes from London Gatwick next Summer.

All routes will be operating from 31st March (many as a continuation of a winter service) unless indicated.

This is not the full schedule

It is important to note that this is not the final schedule from Gatwick for Summer 2024:

  • some routes, such as Porto and Algiers, are moving to Gatwick for Winter 2023 and may continue at Gatwick for Summer 2024
  • additional Greek and Turkish routes are still to be finalised
  • additional routes and / or increased frequencies are likely if Euroflyer can get access to additional aircraft for next summer (there is no shortage of slots as many are currently being used by sister airline Vueling on a temporary basis)

    You say baggage allowance is the same but on all my CE flights from LHR, I get 2x32kg bags (which I never use because it’s usually carry-on only for business). For the two CE flights with Euroflyer I have taken, the baggage allowance has been 2×23. Now we never use the full allowance even as a family of four but it is a lot easier to take three big suitcases of about 28-30kg than four or five smaller ones. Can anyone confirm if this is standard for Euroflyer or just a quirk from this year’s bookings?

      Pretty sure that’s just a bug in their app/website. I bet if you arrived with between 23kg and 32kg you’d have been fine. The ba baggage allowance makes no reference to the subsidiaries at all. Especially at t5 the staff know the deal with the allowances for each class of travel.

        Yeah they know at T5 but my T5 flights (i.e. booked through BA) always say 32kg in the email/on the app/in MMB. I thought it was odd that the email confirmation/app/MMB for Euroflyer flights says 23kg. Good to know its a bug.

        I should have asked at the Club desks at LGW but by that point just wanted to get the kids away from the conveyor belt that my 4yo thought looked like a fun rollercoaster…

      I had this and it seems it’s a bug. The cabin bags are 2x23kg and hold 2x32kg for CE from what I could gather from the confusion (size limits apply of course).

    I don’t suppose it’s possible to know which of these flights are contracted out at this point. Keen to avoid BA simply flying you on someone else’s plane / crew operating to BA standards.

      I doubt BA know at this point if they’ll even need to wet lease planes this far out, let alone which flights they’ll be on.

      We are talking about a 2-3h flight booked for free on points. Does it honestly really matter.

    Qur dates out 29/4 return 27/5 were very important as was the CE re seats and the crucial luggage allowance – could not wait on the chance of picking up LGW seats when no definite date of when they could be available.
    Using 241 booked ABZ/LHR/MAD/ACE when dates were in range (MAD/ACE IB only available in economy)- for the return phoned the USA number and booked ACE/MAD/LHR which was held until next day re the domestic sector – phoned and added on the domestic sector – no £35pp as was expected.
    Did keep watching re LGW flights – but did not initially realise that the voucher that I had used for the ACE flight had been put back into my account (I have another 2 vouchers)
    When the LGW flights became available on 13 June (seatspy alert) I used the voucher (now put back into my account) that was already assigned to my original booking that was still live – really not expecting it to accept it and to canx it at the last screen – did confirm the booking – so I phoned BA – got through pretty quick – explained what had happened – as BA will now have a double booking for the domestic sectors and that would cause problems – the comment from BA re the voucher was that this is happening sometimes – very happy bunny ABZ/LHR/LGW/ACE return in CE – tax on original booking I think was about £360
    because of the IB flights – new booking £4 – surprise added bonus not charged the £35pp

    We flew from LGW to Lanzarote yesterday afternoon in Club Europe. Gold check in was very quick, LGW security was (as ever) pretty slow but bearable and the BA First lounge was comfortable with plenty of room. They were even serving Palmer champagne, one of my faves!! BA had changed the aircraft twice since our booking back in January, moving our seats around both times but we still ended up sat together in 4A and 4C. They have screwed our seats for the return leg however , sitting us on opposite sides of the aircraft in 1A and 1F. Despite a call to BA and getting a duty manager involved, they were unable to change this. Not a very impressive way to treat a Gold/Silver couple travelling together. We flew out on an Airbus A320, without any BA insignia, wet leased from Avion Express, a Maltese aircraft. To be fair to Avion, the Maltese crew looked after us really well, a great menu selection with excellent champagne, wines and spirits. Lunch was served on proper china, with decent cutlery and, for once, the coffee was very drinkable! One downside was the front toilet went out of service mid-flight, but it did not affect us.

      The food and beverage and the crockery they were served in and on would have been provided by BA so I’m sure they will be pleased you liked them.

        1A and 1F are the best seats on the plane, so it will probably be fairly easy to swap with either 1C or 1D when you get there.

      I’m giving Lufty a chance next week flying LGW-FRA-BER as (a) cheaper than BA and (b) it’s not that much longer a journey once you include the extra time to get to LHR from Amex by the Sea,

        You may have to redo security at FRA. You can avoid it on a non-Schengen to non-Schengen if you land at the right gate (50/50) but I couldn’t find a way to avoid security when doing non-Schengen to Schengen

          It’s just part of the process these days. I tend to be security ready (so many people aren’t) so it’s usually not a problem.

          But it would be nice to do what I did last week when I did LHR-HEL-ARN-LHR where I only had to do security at LHR which made for a very smooth set of flights!

          There aren’t many advantages of getting older, but having had the opportunity of staying here long before FS spoilt it is one of them. It was a magical hotel with legendary service in a great location and, like many others of a similar style in Italy, was unbelievably reasonable. The charm has been ripped out by Four Seasons such that it now resembles a repro furniture warehouse full of loud American shoppers. And of course you get to pay FS ever increasing prices with an unfortunately corresponding drop in service.
