Thank you for coming to the Head for Points Summer Party last night

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

If you joined us at the Summer Party last night, thank you for coming.

There will be a full article tomorrow or Friday once we get more photos from our photographer Jamie (and please do feel free to send us yours too!)

Here is what it looked like before everyone arrived:

Thank you to everyone who came, and to SeatSpy for sponsoring the event.  My apologies to those of you who couldn’t get tickets. We left at about 10:30pm and there were still about 10 people there, almost five hours after it started.

It was a lovely evening, and although it looked like it might rain it stayed dry, which meant we could use the terrace all day.

This one, whilst a little dark, gives a good impression of the scale of the event:

Full report tomorrow, but if you have any comments on the event you can post them here today.

Wait there was a free drinks party in Liverpool that only ten people turned up to?!!

    • Rob says:

      Yes, last month.

      • baec_newbie says:

I’d have love to have attended, but despite reading the daily emails I appear to have missed it. With a bit more advance notice and prominence, I’m sure you’d have had yourself a big attendance 🙂

        • Super Secret Stuff says:

It’s wasn’t well advertised I only saw it on the forums I think

          • Rob says:

No, it had a Bits article (now deleted) so went to all 17k on the email list plus however many read it on site.

  • Duncan says:

I’m the very lucky star prize winner, so without an Oscars length speech, I’d like to thank the HfP team, and the very generous sponsors for an amazing prize.

I was (and still am) completely shocked that I had the lucky ticket, and didn’t get too much sleep on the Sleeper train home to Dundee! Had a great night chatting with MariaJ and aman1384 too.

Congratulations to the other winners, and thanks once again to HfP, Malaysia Airlines and SeatSpy.

    • Rhys says:

      Congratulations!

    • MattH says:

      Well done! Great prize.

I had 198 and got overly excited when 188 was called out – so well done whoever that was, too

    • Biki says:

I had 292, so was thinking my luck was in when he said the first 2 number!

    • AJA says:

I’m pleased for you and for the rest of those who won. The odds were pretty decent

    • Maria J says:

Congratulations again, Duncan. We were really chuffed for you. It was a pleasure to meet you and aman1384.

Thank you once again to Aman for the ticket.

    • Super Secret Stuff says:

      Congratulations !

    • Skywalker says:

      Congrats @Duncan! 😁

  • david says:

wasnt there but congrats. well deserved hfp. never asked me for a penny but gave me so much back in return that its ridiculous.

  • Simon says:

Fantastic night out! A huge thanks to Rob, Sinead, Rhys + the extended HfP team, Seat Spy and the companies who offered up the prizes. Getting tickets in the first place felt like a win (speaking as a non-prize winner). Congrats to Duncan on winning the star prize – you could have heard a pin drop just before that ticket was drawn, so no problems with the acoustics!

  • GeoffreyB says:

Can the next one be 2 mins walking distance from my house?

  • polly says:

Sadly we “The Coven” missed it, as Rob named the 3 of us.. cute, Rob. That’s Cat, Lady London and myself ( we do have fun, esp Cat getting in on the Harry Potter act on that famous staircase! Such a shame to miss it this year….
Let’s hope we get there next year, or hopefully another rerun of the winter one.. the location is superb, and you were all so lucky to use the outside space too. Congrats to the winners. Great prizes. Well done to the team. The after time is nice, chatting in the bar.. with Lev and Alex kindly leading us to the tube station.. great fun times.
Did Julian and Greghis make it?
Maybe a bit more notice next year, fingers crossed…

    • Rob says:

We will try to be more structured for 2024. What we found is that potential sponsors couldn’t do it because their 2023 budgets were already set, which meant it look longer to get a deal. If we can get a sponsorship deal put in place this year then the client can budget it for 2024 and we can confirm the hotel earlier. Euro football in 2024 though which will make it harder to agree a date – might not be possible until we know when England will be playing.

  • yorkshireRich says:

What time did the majority of people leave? I must admit I was tempted this year but the last train back up norff was half 9 which I thought, way I was getting chatting away, I would probably end up missing.

P.s I’m up for any event, but notice is key (and accessibility to actually obtain a ticket).

    • Super Secret Stuff says:

I left at 9:05, was on the 9:39 from Euston with dinner!

    • Blair Waldorf Salad says:

Reney and I were shuffled out by the staff at gone past 22.30

    • memesweeper says:

I usually stay till thrown out. My +1 wanted to leave early, unfortunately…

    • baec_newbie says:

Most started leaving after the raffle at 8. It was starting to get deserted by 8:30, when I left.

      • Rob says:

‘Deserted’ is a bit strong, there were a lot (100?) still there at 9.30 albeit split across the hall and terrace. We left at 10.30 and there were still hardcore stragglers!

  • sloth says:

The irony of so many complaints of people not willing to travel to London for the party, on a travel dedicated site…probably the same people that happily do tier point runs…
