The current Virgin Atlantic ‘buy points’ bonus, which will get you a bonus of up to 60%, ends soon.
If you are short of points for your next redemption, now is a good time to top up.
This bonus offer runs until 18th July.
Let’s take a look at how it works.
The bonus depends on how many points you buy:
- 5,000 to 24,000 Virgin Points – 20% bonus
- 25,000 to 69,000 Virgin Points – 30% bonus
- 70,000 to 124,000 Virgin Points – 50% bonus
- 125,000 to 200,000 Virgin Points – 60% bonus
The maximum number of points you can buy via this offer is 200,000 Virgin Points plus the bonus. This is also the annual cap, so if you have already purchased points this year you can only buy enough to take you up to 200,000.
The usual cost is £15 per 1,000 points but you will be receiving a bonus on top.
At the top end, 200,000 Virgin Points, which actually gets you 320,000 points with the 60% bonus, will cost £3,000. This works out at 0.93p each, which is a good deal if you can find ‘Saver’ award availability.
That said, as always, we don’t recommend buying speculatively.
Bonus points are credited at the time of purchase and will appear on your account within 24 hours.
Virgin Atlantic is a member of the SkyTeam airline alliance. This allows redemptions across partners such as Aeromexico, Air France, China Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Garuda Indonesia, KLM, Korean Air, SAS and Vietnam Airlines.
You may also find value for top events at The O2, watching from the Virgin Red Room suite. Lorde, Jamiroquai and Little Simz tickets are currently available at 50,000 points for two people. Haim, Bastille, Judas Priest & Alice Cooper and OneRepublic are among the artists at 40,000 points for two suite tickets. Some events go as low as 30,000 points for two.
Points can be bought (or gifted) in increments of 1,000 and there is a one-off £15 administration charge per transaction regardless of size. You won’t be able to buy points if your current points balance is zero.
The link to buy points is here.
The 60% bonus offer runs to 18th July.
