80 AwardWallet upgrade codes available below

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

EDIT: As a lot of people signed up for Award Wallet on Friday, I have 5 new codes to give away. These were listed at 2.30pm Saturday. See below.

As I previewed earlier today, here are the 80 AwardWallet upgrade codes that I currently have to give away.

You can find out more about AwardWallet, which is free to join, in my earlier article here.

There is no easy way of dishing these out so it is first come, first served. Cut and paste one at random from the list and see if it works. If it does, you’ll get a six month upgrade to AwardWallet Plus. If you are already on the Plus level, you will get a six month extension.

If the code doesn’t work, it means another reader has already used it.  Try another.

My gut feeling is that these codes will disappear in about 2 minutes. I will tidy up the list later in the afternoon in case any got missed as I can see from my account which ones were not used.

To use a code, you need to be on the desktop version of AwardWallet. Click on your name in the top left hand corner and it will reveal an option called ‘Upgrade Using A Coupon’. Cut and paste the code there.

No luck for me either. This system is a bit like chucking some meat into the piranha tank. It would be nice to have something a little more orderly such as picking 80 names out of a hat for all those who emailed in or commented on the original post but I appreciate time is valuable for the HfPs team.

I like to think I have a reasonable understanding of the security implications of doing what they’re doing…. This looks like a monumentally gaping chasm of a hack waiting to happen… From the FAQ, it seems there is a claimed $4 billion database of loyalty usernames and passwords stored in reversible encryption with a key that has been deemed insecure by NIST for over a decade, that is controlled centrally. This is the exact opposite of how financially important passwords should be handled. I must be reading this incorrectly as I can’t believe my eyes to be honest… Are people storing their actual BA username and password in this?

      Yes, this

    • DI says:

Yes, this app is not secure.

Do not ever share your credentials to anything with anything.

BA and their 10 other programmes, between hotels, car hire, amex etc. The exact reason AW doesn’t work for me is most of my accounts have 2FA, which AW obviously can’t get around. It’s a handy place to revisit periodically and refresh, not least because after that they’ll send you reminders of expiring points, you sometikes forger about your odd orhpan programmes and this can remind you, but it’s two laborious to use more than that for me.
