Save on United Airlines and Emirates flights via special football deals

Two special football related discounts have popped up:

Save £45 on United flights to the United States with a Wrexham membership!

As we covered recently, United Airlines has become the official airline sponsor of Wrexham football club.

Whilst Division 2 clubs would not normally attract a major global airline as a sponsor, Wrexham is different. If the story has passed you by, it is now owned by Hollywood royalty Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds who turned their story into a successful TV series, ‘Welcome to Wrexham’.

Wrexham is even having a US pre-season tour this summer – flying on United, of course – which is something not exactly common for Division 2 clubs.

United Airlines is offering a £75 flight discount to everyone who signs up for Wrexham club membership. This will cost you £30, so there is a net gain of £45.

The discount code terms are a little vague:

“Flights to be booked between July 7, 2023 and October 7, 2023 for travel between August 1, 2023 and April 30, 2024. Full terms and conditions will apply. A discount code will be provided in due course to all members.”

If you’re interested, you can find out more on the Wrexham website here.

Save up to £150 on Emirates flights via its Arsenal partnership

Emirates, as the core sponsor of Arsenal football club, has released a special discount offer for club members.

Whilst this is in theory only meant to be used by club members, the code has been widely shared on discount and coupon sites so I doubt there is any extra loss in posting it here.

You save:

  • up to £30 on economy tickets
  • up to £150 on business class tickets
  • premium economy and first class are excluded
  • travel must be completed by 23rd January 2024

You need to use code UKARSN7 on the Emirates website here. Click the red ‘promo code’ text to be taken to a special booking screen which allows the use of promo codes – you can’t do this from the main home page.

Fares shown will be automatically discounted if included in the offer and will be shown with a gold circle next to them.

How to earn Emirates Skywards miles from UK credit cards

How to earn Emirates Skywards miles from UK credit cards (April 2025)

Emirates Skywards does not have a UK credit card.  However, you can earn Emirates Skywards miles by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

Cards earning Membership Rewards points include:

Membership Rewards points convert at 4:3 into Emirates Skywards miles which is an attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 0.75 Emirates Skywards miles

The American Express Preferred Rewards Gold card earns double points (2 per £1) on all flights you charge to it, not just with Emirates but with any airline.

  • Fazzy Bear says:

Wonder if they will once again increase the price of Arsenal tickets this season?

    • GeoffreyB says:

I believe they’ve increased season ticket prices (indirectly)

  • Julia says:

Can definitely take advantage of Emirates £30 pound off code. Now if the only had an Amex offer to go with then I’d be well sorted.

  • Kevin C says:

In 2021 I paid 40,000 Hilton points for two PGA Wentworth hospitality tickets.

  • Ruralite says:

I used an Arsenal code a few months ago, not a member or even a footy fan I just found it and tried it, and I saved about £100 on a return Bus. fare (can’t remember exact figure but I know it wasn’t the full £150 that they advertise it’s up to). Plus at that time there was also an Amex cash back offer of £100 with Emirates so not a bad saving.

    • paul says:

OMG how much was the bus fare to save £100

I thought Gov was subsidising £2 fares still

      🤣🤣🤣

  • Adam says:

The emirates code is dead now
