Etihad has launched an interesting cashback offer with American Express.

If you are targetted for this offer via your online card statement page, and you opt in, you will receive £200 cashback when spending £800+ online with Etihad.

The deadline for making bookings is 31st October. There is no deadline on when you fly.

Get £100 cashback on £600 Etihad spend with American Express

Cumulative spend counts.

I suspect – but can’t be certain – that ‘taxes and charges’ payments on Etihad Guest redemptions would also trigger the cashback. As Etihad allows you to mix and match cash and miles whilst booking, you may want to use fewer miles and add some cash (assuming the taxes and charges are less than £800) to get to an £800 payment.

The offer is only valid on flights departing from the UK, which means London or Manchester.

Remember that Etihad recently brought the A380 back to the Heathrow to Abu Dhabi route. Our flight reviews include the Etihad A380 Business Studio, the Etihad Boeing 777 First Class Suite and the Eithad A380 First Class Apartment.

You can book on the Etihad site here.

How to earn Etihad Guest miles from UK credit cards

How to earn Etihad Guest miles from UK credit cards (April 2025)

Etihad Guest does not have a UK credit card.  However, you can earn Etihad Guest miles by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

Cards earning Membership Rewards points include:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:1 into Etihad Guest miles which is an attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 1 Etihad Guest mile.

The American Express Preferred Rewards Gold card earns double points (2 per £1) on all flights you charge to it, not just with Etihad but with any airline.

Decent Marriott Amex offer appeared on both Bonvoy and BA Amex cards yesterday too.

Those Greggs inclined, they currently have free pizza slice and free hot drink when you download their app. 2x if you got 2x phones.

  • Sam says:

Despite knowing the answer, just to confirm 100% that no-one has squeezed this through flying from Dublin or another European Airport, even if booked on UK site in £?

  • Debbie Waugh says:

I just signed up for My LNER perks and image for link to free Greggs sausage roll not showing at all?

    • mkcol says:

It is emailed to you once you go into the perks bit of the app and complete the details requested which appear in another window.

    • Colin Thames says:

Thanks for this. Like Debbie there was no form or offer picture showing in my LNER app. To anyone else, the form posted by Save East Coast Rewards only works if you login to your LNER account. Then click back to the form and refresh, then voila, it worked!

Does anyone know how much 1 etihad mile costs when mixing cash and miles? I don’t want to transfer in more than I have to. I would quite like to try The Residence if I can pull it off.

Why couldn’t you post this yesterday! I’m writing this on a flight back to Bologna and will now miss out 😢

In other news I was told on this flight that the sandwiches that feature in the High Life Cafe seat back pocket menu (including the bacon roll) are only available in band 3 and above. I was told my 2 hour flight to Bologna was too short for them to stock these items and they’re only available pre-order. I thought when the seat back menus reappeared that we were going back to having proper food available in economy without the need to pre-order.

I missed this as most of my flights have been in Club Europe but now I’ve hit my tier points for the year I decided to be a cheapskate – now I’m regretting it feeling hungry with the smell of the CE full English

Why didn’t you take breakfast in the Concorde Room to utilise you’re GGL status benefits…

  • FatherOfFour says:

Thanks for the (vegan) sausage roll tip.
I got LNER app the other day- going to rinse Nectar connect for my nexct few trips while it is still around, though unfortunately I am normally on GWR or Avanti… can book and get the Nectar, but can’t use the £5 perks credit or 5?% discount as it is not an LNER train.

  • Alex Sm says:

“ As a LNER Perks member you dove right in from 3 to 29 July. When they were gone, they were gone!

    This offer has now ended.”

A bit too late to flag the offer, no?

    • Rob says:

It’s a new offer. They forgot to remove that. Fill in the form and your code will appear (which of course you could have done before commenting!)
