Hilton The Gantry winter sale

Some sale inspiration

After a busy Christmas and New Year, it could be a good time to take a break and make the most of the Hilton Sale.

If a city break in the capital appeals, then you could try The Gantry in Stratford, one of Hilton’s Curio Collection hotels.  With its boutique hotel feel and strong design aesthetic – see the exterior photo above – it would be a great base for exploring this increasingly interesting part of town. You’re also only a stone’s throw from central London courtesy of the Elizabeth line, Central Line or Jubilee Line.

Rhys reviewed The Gantry earlier this year – click to read.

Hilton winter sale Lost Property

Another great option for a London city break is Lost Property St Paul’s London (also part of the Curio Collection) in the heart of the City of London. This hotel is in sight of St Paul’s Cathedral and a short walk across the Millennium Bridge to Bankside and Tate Modern.

Rhys has also reviewed Lost Property St Paul’s – click here.

Slightly further afield, you could try something a little different and head to the Hilton Heidelberg in Germany which opened last week.  Hilton Heidelberg is a short stroll away from the historic Old Town with its quaint streets, squares and ancient buildings.  Very accessible from Frankfurt airport, this would make a great, intellectually satisfying, weekend break.

An image is below and the Hilton Heidelberg website is here.

We’ll be reviewing a couple of other interesting Hilton properties – one in London and one in Berlin – before the sale ends to give you some more ideas.

Conclusion

The Hilton Sale is now live and offers savings across a range of hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. There are a few terms and conditions to note before you book:

  • you must book by 30th January 2024
  • your stay must be taken by 8th April 2024
  • full prepayment is required and rooms are not refundable
  • sale rates are only available for weekend stays at participating hotels

You will save up to 20%* off the standard Best Flexible Rate, although note that these sale rooms are not refundable whereas Best Flexible Rate rooms are.

The discount is lower if you are not a Hilton Honors member, but I assume you are (!) as a HfP reader – and if not, you can join for free at the Hilton website.

* Terms and conditions apply and can be found on the sale page of Hilton’s website here.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (April 2025)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

Rather than making me want to book, it just anoys me now when hotels claim theres a sale but then base it on the cost between a cancellable rate and a non cancellable as tho they think we are thick and dont know the difference.

  • Ken says:

Was looking at Lost Property hotel for January.
Saving is £1 over advance purchase rate.

    Borders on misleading advertising.

  • ianM says:

Is this the same sale that’s been on for a few weeks?

    • tony says:

Yes. Bookings were available from Dec 5th according to the terms. Must admit I looked at a couple of random properties and the discount seemed OK, but critically there were no other non-refundable rates available, so in those instances they had removed the cheapest rate anyway.

  • Philondon says:

Stratford in London as a holiday destination? I’ve heard it all now! There were a total of 1453 street level crime incidents in Stratford in June 2023 according to a Google search.

    • Rob says:

Gantry isn’t in Stratford in the same way that Westfield, Olympic Park etc aren’t really in Stratford.

      • The real Swiss Tony says:

There’s a website called Crystal Roof that analyses UK crime stats at a granular level. The worst part of Stratford is indeed the area between the mainline station and International. That is obviously skewed by shoplifting and the heavy footfall, but it’s certainly not as safe as it should be round there (as evidenced by the balaclava clad “yoot” who cycle through the mall itself)

        • TGLoyalty says:

Have you compared it to the actual tourist hotspots around London?

Look around Hotel Cafe Royal for example

Annual total crime rate in your local area is 7832.8 per thousand population.

          Corinthia London

Annual total crime rate in your local area is 4370.4 per thousand population.

          Bulgari

Annual total crime rate in your local area is 806.1 per thousand population.

          Gantry

Annual total crime rate in your local area is 120.4 per thousand population.

Where actually most crimes are anti social behaviour while the other 3 areas it’s by far theft from a person … what I’d be more worried about as a tourist

          • tony says:

Fair point. I recall once that reading that the square mile had the highest murder rate in the UK because they also benchmark it against the resident population which is incredibly low. But the issue I have is that they can’t even keep control over a private piece of land (i.e. Westfield mall itself) despite only a few entrances and a supposedly high & visible security presence.

Piccadilly Circus you (sadly) just kind of have to expect hoodlums & petty crime as coming with the territory.

  • Doug says:

Utter rubbish. Have 3 stays coming up on weekends in 3 different locations with multiple Hiltons in each location. None are cheaper. Very misleading.

  • M says:

Checked multiple hotels and the true discount were always under 3%. I guess at least it earns some revenue for the site running an article like this, but I still class this as a scam!

  • Aston100 says:

Hilton and Qatar should start a misleading advertising campaign partnership.

  • Callum says:

I like staying at Hilton’s but their claimed sales offerings are a load of stinky nonsense.

    • Myriad says:

Considering the lack of transparency in pricing of flights and hotels, it should quite honestly be considered false advertising for them to say anything is a “sale”.
