Hyatt announced some changes to its ‘Guest of Honour’ benefit last month. I won’t go into it again but our full article is here.

Put very simply, the ‘Guest of Honour’ benefit – where a Globalist member can book for a third party who will receive full Globalist benefits – has changed. It is now a Milestone Reward, available from 40 nights, so even a non-Globalist can access it and use it to have their own stay treated as a Globalist.

Hyatt's 'Guest of Honour' changes are now live

‘Guest of Honour’ is now available on both cash and points stays, not just redemptions. ‘Guest of Honour’ certificates, and indeed all other Hyatt certificate benefits such as club lounge access, are now freely transferable online.

There is one little quirk which I thought would happen and indeed has.

Hyatt agreed to give all Globalist members a one-off benefit of 5 x ‘Guest of Honour’ certificates to make up for any perceived loss. These are now showing on your World of Hyatt account.

Importantly, even people who will lose their Globalist status on 29th February have received these. This means that, after February, an ex-Globalist will still be able to receive Globalist benefits on five stays before the end of February 2025.
